I would like to file an FOIA request to get the breakdown of my score. I am not sure the best way to do that. Any advice? Thanks

Here's something to consider: What if, when they receive your request, your file is somehow tagged, delayed, set aside, put in a different category or action status (goodness knows how OPM works) and you are not considered when they put together a cert until the request is cleared and they change the status on your file again? That certainly happened with the old paper personnel files, and I wouldn't care to bet the ranch it can't or won't with electonic files.

Yikes, Odarite, that would be terrible. I hadn't considered that. I keep forgetting who we are dealing with. Maybe I should wait a couple of months and then do it.

A request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

I have no idea what your comment means, drwho, I can only tell you that I missed getting on the register in time to avoid the Adzell freeze because my paper file was lying on some bureaucrat's desk for some arcane reason at just the wrong moment. Since it happened to me for a completely non-malicious reason, I am not persuaded it can't happen again, and while agree with the poster who said one should not cower in fear, I don't want anyone to make a decision to take or not take any particular action without full consideration of any potential result.

Hmmm, ruonthelist, thanks for the input. I guess I can just write to them and ask them to release a copy of the breakdown of my scores. I can't think straight anymore.
