I just had some questions about the August Class if anyone can indulge.
1. When does it start? 2. Where is it being held? 3. When is the induction? 4. Do we know where the appointees will be staying? 5. Do appointees get per diem while at training? 6. Does the Agency pay for transportation back home on weekends?
Thanking you in advance -

1. When does it start?
The report date to your duty station is July 20. You report to Falls Church for training August 3, which means you travel (on the government dime) to the hotel in Pentagon City on the Sunday before, August 2. (Those in the July class report to their duty station June 22 and to Falls Church July 6, travel July 5)
2. Where is it being held?
Training is in Falls Church
3. When is the induction?
July 20
4. Do we know where the appointees will be staying?
Residence Inn, Pentagon City. They have a list. Do not contact them about your reservation.
5. Do appointees get per diem while at training?
yes
6. Does the Agency pay for transportation back home on weekends?
no

Odarite,
Two additional questions: When does the August class ends? If I have a previous commitment that conflicts with a training day, would I be able to request leave? Or is it an outright, out of the question no??? Thanks for your help.

The August class ends at noon on the 28th, and no, leave will not be granted. OK, there are exceptions, but it had better be life [birth of your own child] or death [your own]. There was a student in the class of 2008 who was allowed to leave early when his wife went into labor. But that is pretty much it.

Is there a special ceremony on the 28th where family can be present?

Graduation on the last Friday of class is almost always open to families. There were lots of hoops to jump through for Baltimore, maybe not so much for Falls Church. You will find out the last week of class, they will tell you the drill.
