Given that there are plenty of people left from the last round of selections, this may be a stealth selection.
While ODAR could ask for a new cert (and candidates would likely know about it because they would be asked for a GAL), it could stick with the current cert and make selections.
If the selections are intended to be made and the hiring be done before the end of the FY, I think that there is a good likelihood for a stealth cert, for time is running out on requesting a cert (there will likely be a need for some interviews).
If the selections are made from the current cert, there may be no warning, just calls.
I guess what I am saying is that I recommend: if there is no communication from OPM about GALs, be prepared.

PF: call you Cassandra
BTW: I completely bought your bit about the Palin investigation by the FEC in Alaska - it seemed so plausible and I'm not normally so gullible. Not after my trip to Nigeria anyway. Also, we heard you got a position with an agency but I didn't know which one. For all I know you're now some big time muckety muck at the FEC and you knew what you were talking about. I was actually looking forward to hearing about the wardrobegate hearings.

That's not what my copy of the certificate and selections shows me, but then you must have better information. Of course, did I show up your copy of the certificate as Patriotsfan? I'll assume this was an attempt at humor. If you were looking for me on the cert, follow Candidate #1 -- as in highest score in the country --- not that scores matter anywhere but on the football field. And relevant experience doesn't matter when the scores are picked out of the magic OPM hat.

Met them all at training. Not that actually getting selected matters.....

No, JH, they were the ones wearing sweatshirts that said, "Kiss Me, I had a position lower than 225 on the Cert", or tee shirts reading, "I was considered for ten different hearing offices and all I got was a black robe and this lousy tee-shirt."

I trained with the selectees for those locations. Not to hard to figure out, but then again this doesn't play into the patriotsfan as victim of a conspiracy narrative.

PF: I have no idea who NS is or how long he/she has been reading this board, but I thought I remembered you posting last year that you were limited to New England which was part of the problem - you couldn't be considered since there were no openings in NE. Since there were NE spots this time maybe that is what NS was alluding to, not that he/she knew you personally. That was my take - but a restraining order still might not be a bad idea.
I have no theory as to what "training with the selectees for those locations" means since the training has yet to begin. Hmmm??

Actually, it was pre-training for the pre-selectees.

Pre-training of the pre-selectees? Of course, it makes perfect sense. It helps to know someone in the know and you know, Morg.

No baiting and no personal attacks. Everyone got their favorite theories here, and they are entitled to their opinions, and that's what a free market place of idea is about. If you disagree, address the theory, but don't attack the person. At some point, let it go, since most of these agency selection theories have been beaten to the death over the last two years. The bottom line is nothing is going to change short of a MSPB or District Court ruling, so while it's fine talking about it, it's not worth ripping each other to shreds over. I'm locking this thread since I just had to delete a couple quite uncivilized posts. Hopefully the parties will chill out a bit and relax.
