Congrats PA - I had a few clients screaming and crying when I told them I was leaving, but I can now smile, thinking of what they are doing to their new lawyers.
May the Force (of this Board) be with you!

Congrats! If you happen to be going to Miami, you can get great deals on rentals downtown.

Privateatty, Would you mind divulging your score? I'm just wondering if offers from other agencies only go to really high scorers like PF, or was your location more of a factor? Also, when you say you were passed over again, do you mean the big 2008 hiring and the current one?

Privateatty, Would you mind divulging your score? I'm just wondering if offers from other agencies only go to really high scorers like PF, or was your location more of a factor? Also, when you say you were passed over again, do you mean the big 2008 hiring and the current one? Most other agencies only hire 1 or 2 ALJs at once, so they can never reach down the register as far as SSA typically do in one of its big hires. For any other agencies hiring off the cert, it's rare that they can reach below 80. I believe Medicare cert earlier this year had 10+ candidates on it for two or three openings and they were only able to get to somewhere around 78. Finally, when you have only a few candidates on a cert, veteran's preference and rule of three become very important. Do a forum search if you need to learn more about it. Good luck!
