Pix- I am signing off. I was really hoping this blog would provide an oppportunit6y to reach new ALJs with an appeal to forget their SSA stovepipe education and realize their appointment as an ALJ was an opportunity to finally take action to repudiate government malfeasance of due process under the APA. I was wrong- have fun!

And if you don't keep a sense of humor about you, you will be truly lost, no matter what your education or pre-conceived beliefs.
Our Chief told us yesteday: Have fun and smile.

8-)Pixie, I promise to be good. I found over the years that most attorneys, if not all, will out of habit, refer to you as "your honor."If not, be like Senator Boxer and remind them you worked hard to become an ALJ and please don't refer to you as sir or ma'am.

In casual conversation, I prefer to be addressed as "Your Holiness", but in more formal settings, it should be "Morgullord the Merciless, Scion of the Gods of the Planet Mirabu, Heridary War Chief of the Non-Conforming Susquehannocks and Quecreeks, and Lineal Descendant of the Chief of the Clan Macth'Knife, Who Stood His Ground at Cullodon, the Avenger of Glencoe." Of course, I have never been one to stand on ceremony...

Any term of address is fine with me as long as it is respectful. I treat claimants and attorneys with respect and expect the same in return. In 13 years I have never had a problem.
