I am in the August class. In Judge Cristaudo's letter (just received), he states for us newbies to obtain a Citibank Visa ASAP at the above web-site. I have not been able to access that web-site. Also, is the "travel authorization form" he references in his letter also at that web-site?
Can someone help me out here? Thank you!

The site listed is part of the agency intranet, not the Internet. You cannot access it until you report to your office and get to log onto the computer system.
Don't panic. You can make your travel arrangements through SATO even without the card to get the airfare and hotel arranged, but your office will help you to expedite getting the travel card. You can then pay with the official travel card for your hotel and meals. Your airfare will be direct billed to SSA by SATO Travel (travel agency used by SSA) if you don't have the card yet. The application process for the travel card was pretty quick except they make you watch a presentation about how to avoid abusing your card and then you must actually answer questions on a quiz about it. Pay attention (and take notes if you have problems paying attention) or you will have to sit through it again!
What you will need is the travel authorization with CAN and SOC numbers to make any reservations even through SATO.

Mine did not come, and a replacement had to be sent to my office via FedEx the day before I left for training. Call your new office and talk to the AA, who can send you and then fax the form in for you.

Some of the July class are having their Government credit card mailed to them at the hotel. You can check in with a personal card, but you have to pay the bill with the Government card. Also, if you already have a Government credit card from another agency, e.g., DoD, you cannot transfer the card to SSA, so apply for the new card as soon as you arrive at your office.

I am in August class and called the phone number provided in the the materials that came with the Chief Judge's letter. I called last week, and I already have my card.
