aljsouth, How does the list realistically work for those that are on it? Ex., if ALJ 1 wants to move to Spokane from Seattle, and ALJ 2 wants to move to Seattle from Spokane, if they are both far enough up on the transfer list, will SSA permit them to switch? How much effort will SSA invest in trying to shuffle the transfer list to try and accommodate as many as possible of those individuals that want to move? None of this applies to me; just curious.

ALJ South,
Any idea how long it will take for the Agency to process these transfers? Then any estimate on how long it will be before the supplemental certification?
Other posts on this Board have said interviews would be scheduled for August 10th through August 14th for hiring with a start date in October.

No switching is done. If an opening occurs in Spokane and the agency plans plans to fill it with a new hire, it must first offer the transfer to the judges on the transfer list to Spokane -- in order of preference based on date of transfer request, etc. SSA does not invest any effort to shuffle the transfer list.

Can anyone familiar with the process and the current transfer list venture to guess how long it will take for the Agency to process these transfers? I am trying to get an idea for how long it will be before SSA will schedule new interviews for the 50 or so ALJs that they apparently intend to hire in this fall.
I have spoken with others who have been through the interview process, and they told me that received telephone calls setting up interviews about a month in advance of the interview. According to a post by Odarite on the 2010 hiring thread, interviews are scheduled to take place between August 10th and 14th. This seems unlikely given the past history of contacting people about a month in advance and when the transfer issue is not resolved yet.

Houston (Downtown) and Houston (Bellaire) ? Many thanks o to either Houston 1 from Houston, 3 from Houston DT CAVEAT: the judge from Houston is also listed as one of the 3 from Houston DT; which is impossible. So I don't know which site this judge is from.

I know that transfers were still be offered 10 days before the candidates were offered ALJ slots in the last hire. Logic does not apply.
