I think the turn around will be quicker. My guess is that the new hires would need to be hired and report before the end of the fiscal year. The last pay period for the fiscal year begins on September 27. Offers would have to be made at a minimium of three or four weeks before the report date. If we have a pool, my guess is offers will go out the week before Labor Day.

I received the notice also. I am geographically challenged and was not on the prior cert. My two original cities were Baltimore, MD and Harrisburg, PA and they have listed me for Harrisburg only.

Notice received at 7:44AM today, July 30, 2009. So the e-mails are still going out. Perhaps alphabetically, because it's not by rank on the cert nor by region.

Hello everyone. I received two e-mails today. One of the e-mails lists the cities of Orlando and Tampa and the second e-mail lists the city of San Juan.

Hello everyone. I received two e-mails today. One of the e-mails lists the cities of Orlando and Tampa and the second e-mail lists the city of San Juan. The Puerto Rico is listed separately because of the language requirement.

The cities listed correspond to the places you told OPM you would be willing to go.

I was on the Spring cert, was interviewed and did not receive an offer. I received yesterday's e-mail and will not have to interview again. My GAL listed one additional location that was not listed on the original GAL (NYC) so I guess that's a positive. At least I know about this board now so I can keep tabs on the process. Good luck to everyone!

Does anybody have an idea as to what this may mean for those of us who just missed making the cert?

Wannabe 123, assuming your rank on the register was not necessary to populate a rule of three for each GAL, you're still in the running, technically until October 2010, with your odds increased by a shrinking register, which is not refreshed.

Does anybody have an idea as to what this may mean for those of us who just missed making the cert? Please don't forget that the next cert will be for at least 150 slots. I have a score of 67 and made the cert, which would mean that a score as low as 67 is in the top 150 scores on the register. Geographic availability has likely knocked some higher scores out of contention though. Obviously if the register is not refreshed before 2010, some much lower scores will be in play for the coming large cert.

Skipping ahead to next year, since the current register expires October 2010, one would assume the register would be re-opened sometime in 2010.
1. Do those on the current register need to go through the application process again, or are they able to refresh their GALs?
2. Is there a period of time in which one is prohibited from reapplying?

I can't help but be fascinated that with every cert from 07 and 08, everyone was poll happy I haven't seen one single poll attempting to figure out the demographics or other classifications of any type for this one. I guess all the poll happy people got hired and don't care anymore?

One more potential slot here. Odds are I am still marked as an agitator or some such. I'd love to know but I have to let it go. Sounds like the beginning of a great song, eh, wot? I will inform the PTB in ODAR that I (thankfully) have employment elsewhere. Break a leg, y'all!

I called Thomas Graham, who is one of the SSA contacts for this cert, and the cut off score was 60.61 this time. I was previously told that the cut off for the spring cert was 60.5. It looks as though they didn't go as deep this time. Also, all the e-mail notices have gone out.
