Could you explain the "exalt" and "smite" functions on the left below the name? How are they to be used?

It's a default feature that comes with this board. A primitative form of peer review on-line reputation system (Ebay's rep system is a more complicated version based on the same idea). Basically if you like someone's post, you exalt them, if you think it's spam, flame, or trash, you smite them. Works well as long as everyone exercises self restrain and don't use it maliciously. Practically, it doesn't do anything since we monitor actual posts and pattern, not karma. It's just a fun way for people to encourage users who post informative or insightful posts. So next time you see someone who post something good, exalt them with positive karma. Finally, if this feature becomes a distraction, let me know and we can vote to see if people want to remove it. Thanks.

When you sign up for this board, Proboard sends an automated e-mail to your e-mail account for activation. If you don't actually click on the Proboard e-mail and follow the activation instructions, I believe your account access will shut off after a while and you'll need to reactivate it. It's a pain but it keeps away the spammers with fake e-mail addresses. Thanks!
