I just printed and read the Interview and Background Questionnaire Form. They want at least 3 publications? Huh? Does posting here count? I haven't had much time to write the great American novel, although I have it in me so I wonder if they mean Appellate briefs? Would my grandmother's obit count? What are others putting down?

Having yet to finish, I mean start, my great American novel, I will be listing 5th Circuit briefs which resulted in published opinions. I can't think of anything else. I don't want to leave it blank.

Not a clue! How bizarre for any published material.

I don't recall anything in original vacancy announcement that indicated published works would be necessary. Does anyone else recall some reference to them?

I don't recall anything in original vacancy announcement that indicated published works would be necessary. Does anyone else recall some reference to them? I know publication was not required because it would have stuck in my mind. I have no published articles or books. Can they possibly make this more stressful? I'm still awaiting the SSA email, so I cannot really get started on the forms.

I've written materials for CLEs on SSA law, but they were never "published" officially. I'm with you, Tootsie, as my brother's obit is the only item I've had "published".

I'm with all of you...no "published" materials...just briefs and CLE materials. Lark

I just put down that I hadn't published anything. I've got plenty of 8th, 10th, and 11th Circuit briefs "published," but I don't think that's what they mean. Who knows??? Not the shadow...

Would someone be kind enough to share a blank copy of the Interview and Background Questionnaire ? I have received the FEAI but the follow-up Notification cotaining the four documents that have to be sent in by the end of the week has been clogged up somewhere. (Although not in my junk mail and not in my application manager.) I am going to be very pressed for time next week and would like to work on it this weekend. If you'd share, I would be most grateful. If so, send me a message and I will send you my e-mail address. Thanks!

I'm at a loss on the published materials as well. I have drafted material for one CLE and have had one un-published court opinion (assuming that I can find that), but nothing else.
In high school, I had a poem published, but I don't think SSA would be too impressed with that. ;D
