The lowest one that I've heard of (note: heard of--not first hand knowledge) was 58 and change.

I know of two people on the cert with scores of a 55 and 56. The question is, do folks with a score between 55-60 and with geographic flexibility have any real chance at selection?

There is no way, at this point, for us to correlate the current scores with the past scores. Also, don't forget that the numbers I put out are before the candidates limited their geographic availability with the agency.
If you look at the scores alone, you would think that only the very high scorers would be selected, but that isn't the case. Let's take Atlanta, for instance. On the list for Atlanta were 42 names who scored between 95 and 110. You would think that no one under 95 would have a chance with that many high scorers above them. Not so. It is the same with all of the locations. Sure it helped to have a score above 95, but it wasn't necessary. There were a bunch of judges hired who scored 92 -- 94.9, even though there may have been forty names above them with scores 95 and above.
The maximum score under the prior examination was 100. If a ten point veteran scored a perfect 100, then he had a score of 110. That's why there are scores above 100.
If I had the time and could find the stats posted in other threads about the number of scores and the different ranges, I could probably give a rough approximation of current scores to past scores. If someone knows where the range of scores is posted, please let me know. I never followed that information, and really don't know where it is or how much information is there. Not promising I will find the time to do it, but I might. Pix.

Pixie,
See 1st post in the Cumulative Score Data Summary thread - Semipa last updated the summary on 11/27. It would be interesting to see how the old test scores correllate with the new ones. Thanks very much.

The post with the new scores compared to the old scores has been moved to the Geographic Preferences thread. It fits better there, and we won't have two parallel conversations going on. Pix.

Thanks Pixie, every piece of information helps. When I first saw my score, 70.37, I immediately called my wife and told her to forget about the ALJ thing. As time goes on and more information is made available, almost all of it from this site, I think many of us have regained self-esteem, and more importantly, hope.
