I am a recent lurker and member who has not posted previously, simply because I did not feel I had anything useful to contribute. I too just received my call today and after picking myself off the floor in disbelief, I was able to make my arrangements. I can't tell each of you enough how impressed I am with the manner and decorum with which this board conducts itself. It bodes well for the quality of the ALJs corps at SSA and elsewhere. The Dude Abides!

Thanks, tdtksbp and carjack re: scheduling info. I called and spoke with Rosa, who was indeed very nice and helpful, and scheduled me in - although I believe they would have got to me rather soon in any event because the only available days were from the 1/30 on, and not sure how many (3?) are set aside for interviews.
Anyway, now I can join the collective sigh of relief, and relax and go have some fun in the "boredom" thread while waiting..!
Thanks all, for the mutual supportduring these exciting times; I'd like to get the job for the obvious reasons, but also am really looking forward to meeting the people I've been "listening to" and correspoding with on this board - quite an interesting lot, for sure...

Still no call. Is it time to call Falls Church and make a polite inquiry? I would really like to know that I am going to be offered an interview before going into the long holiday weekend.

Right on, Kimmy....I will attest to that!
Calling that # and talking with Rosa (or probably any of the fine folks there) will act as the best elixir available in this situation! Lee - you will feel right as rain ater you make the call (to paraphrase the Oracle in The Matrix)

This is nerve racking. I keep checking for messages on four different phones, and yet no phone call. I selected all geographical locations and people above and below my middle of the road score have received calls. I'm beginning to wonder if they have the correct telephone number for me. Please let me know when I should panic (LOL)! I think Thursday about 3:00 pm EST would be a good time to go into partial panic mode. At that time, not yet being in full panic mode, you would have enough presence of mind to pick up the telephone and call someone in ODAR personnel (perhaps one of the members here would give you the current phone number and a contact name) to see what is going on. Normally I would say wait until next week, but the beltway will shut down next week for Christmas. So, you still have almost two full days before you begin to worry. Chill, it will work out. Pix. Lee, do yourself a big favor. Pixie has indicated that she would call tomorrow afternoon. It is the best medicine to relieve your anxiety.

Lee I think you should go ahead and call Rosa. Two others have called her and got their interviews scheduled. Each confirmed as I knew that she was very friendly and helpful. Her number again is (703) 605-8507. Good luck and let us know what happens.

When I got a call from SSA this morning with the TAN for my travel orders, I asked if the interview panel had been finalized. I was told that the panels are still "a work in progress".

I finally got my call yesterday. My interview is near the end of the last week, January 31. At least I get to fly in the night before. I didn't want to have to go straight from a plane to an interview.

Finally, got my call today at 9:40. Going on the 31st also Jazz. I think this is the only time in my life I have actually sat and waited for a phone call like this. Even in junior high and high school, I never waited for some guy to call. So anyway, glad that step is done.

haven't checked on this board in a while, since my low, low, low score will not be getting me any phone calls, but I'm glad to hear the process is moving along for everyone else- just remember- you don't want to work in any of the NY area offices!!!

My TAN info came this afternoon, 6 days after scheduling, and way in time ahead of scheduled panel (1/9).

Just a quick post before I start preparing for a massive family gathering today, to thank everyone who encouraged me to call SSA. I contacted Ms. Cantrell yesterday, who was very gracious and scheduled my interview on 2/1. I was left with the impression that I had been overlooked, but she assured me that they were checking everything twice, and even three times and I would have eventually been contacted. Happy Holidays to all, and thanks for the support during this trying process.

Lee, I'm glad you called as you will now be able to enjoy the holidays. The reason I thought you should call this week instead of next is that DC shuts down for Christmas, and I didn't want you to get caught with no one in the know to talk to. Now you know. Pix.

Thanks for the encouragement. Now I have to go back to the kitchen and see if I can master a recipe for lasagna.
