Would someone with the know-how set up a poll at The Palace. Would like to know what cities folks are being considered for and what scores those notified have. any volunteers?

As noted in another thread, the agency may do a small hiring to replace attrition IF they have the budget for it.
So it's likely this is the process for that potential small hire. However, I doubt any offer will be extended unless the budget can handle it.

BTW - my list of cities includes my expanded GAL in response to the survey we received from OPM last summer.

If anyone has a geographic preference of all, they will have the complete list and can copy and paste here. I'm sure many people are curious.

I received an OPM Notice certifying my name to SSA/ODAR for an ALJ position. What's the deal, considering the budget restraints? The cities on my list include Dover, DE, Philadelphia East, PA, and Richmond, VA.

If someone who received the email has a wide open (or nearly so, excluding AK and HI and PR, for instance) please post the list of cities you received. Grassgreener's GAL may be one of those, can't tell for sure from his/her post.
Good luck to those in the hunt this time, and fingers crossed that they actually do hire. ;D

I got the e-mail from Bob. My GAL has about 42 locations this time. I'm away from my PC right now. But I'll post my list on Monday--if someone else doesn't post all my locations in the meantime. The good news is, this means I haven't been three-struck ... yet (yay!) I guess I'll be reinterviewed, since my last interview was over a year ago, so hopefully that's an opportunity to improve my outcome.
I'm hopeful SSA will go ahead with some hiring since the government now has a continuing resolution to pay for its operation until the end of the fiscal year. Although, if it's like last time, I bet, if it does hire, the number will be small after transfers and because of budget limits.
Good luck everyone!

They only interview once, no matter how many certs you are on. (We don't yet know whether they will reinterview on the new register when it's established). Good luck!

Bob is Bob Gehlken at SSA. He's the point person at ODAR for all the certs, along with a couple of others who've assisted him over the years.

Bob is the Guru of the ALJ Corps. He handles everything from notifications, offers, retirements, and what he doesn't handle he has the contact for. He is one of the nicest people you will meet from the home office. He is just a really good guy and will help you out all he can..

I have Dover, Savannah, Richmond, Greenville, Greensboro and Covington. According to the first page of this thread, 5 others also have Richmond. Does this mean there is more than one opening? I thought they only referred 3 names for each spot.

No, they refer three times or more than will be selected for the Cert. Ie., hiring 30, request 90 for the Cert. Now, once on the Cert you and 10 others may have the same city. They usually take the three highest scores per city and consider which one to hire. So if you have 6 cities and 10 others also have one of those six, you may not make the top three for consideration on any of them, or you may.. It's a lottery and don't quit your day job.. Almost all cities will have multiple people that have put them on their GAL. Just remember the number of people that have said they went with a wide open GAL. If 10 people did that, then there are at least 10 people for each city, not including ones that put that city in particular..
