On behalf of us SD'ers (or at least myself), I tip my hat to the AR group and wish you all good luck on the next leg of the quest. It would have been nice to have met up with some of you in DC and tossed back a few after the third round. But, alas, it was not meant to be.
For the SD'ers, do not go gently into that good night. Appeal. It is a new system of testing, and a flawed one at that. While the probablilities may be low for success, there is nothing to lose either. And if all else fails, there is also the possibility of a reopening in 2015 to look forward to with a better understanding of how this new system operates. As The Most Interesting Man In The World says: "Stay Thirsty My Friends."

Good luck to the ARs moving on; condolences to my fellow SDs - there is always room for dreams of the future, but remain well grounde in the here and now! In fact, I am off shortly to enjoy some here and now. Cheers!

Thank you both and I will miss the opportunity of meeting you both as well, but according to the notice there may be several dates for the phase 3. Hence, we may have two or three test dates. I would assume that the number invited is around 1200 to 1500 to D.C., but no way of knowing for sure right now. I would assume a few may not even make the trip to D.C. either. I wish you both well. Hopefully, in the near future you both land your dream jobs.

Thaks guys. I have enjoyed the theorizing, bantering and general time wastin. I really think the largest factor came down to what type of opm person reviewed your file. That's the only way I can fathom some making it and some not.
Funky is a big believer in fate and, if I hadn't been invited, I hope I would have a healthy outlook and the wisdom to think maybe the universe knows what I need better than I. That said, apeal, appeal, appeal. Any new system has errors and if you want it fight for it.
Best of luck.

But this too shall fade away! Not sure what to appeal on, but have not ruled that out. For the very least as a possible way to learn what to avoid for the next time round! Of course, it may really have come down to it just as you say, who reviewed the file, which I think is the case. We saw it happen at phase 1, so why not here as well. Enjoy the continued anticipation - although less frequently, I will continue to monitor this board as it has been such a wealth of information and a fun distraction to boot!!

I find it is hard to be completely excited when so many are not moving on when they are clearly qualified and would be fantastic ALJs. Good luck to you!

Hi everyone-many congrats to those who are going to DC. I didn't pass round 1 but I have been checking in here. I just haven't had a lot to say because I can't speak from experience about any parts of the process. I am cheering for the people who started this process with me. I am sure that if this was a physical marathon and I had fallen down, you'd help me up before going on to win. I would do the same.

The people on this Board are like family to me and I am always there for family. I think the people on this Board, if they gain the position, will make truly great ALJs because they are compassionate.
