Good luck to all! Does anyone have the number of hires being considered?

Well, there must be some on this Cert who are already marked as "we want you." So I was thinking that to assume that 1/3 of those interviewed as getting hired may not be an accurate measure.

As I recall, the information we have collected from various sources indicate the agency was hoping to hire 20-30 aljs by the end of the fiscal year. If they now have hiring authority, then I would say that plan is back in place. Anyone have other, newer info.?

Yes, 20-30 sounds about right, I would look for the high end, 28-30 if at all possible. We are short of ALJ's and it doesn't cost anymore to train 30 than it does 20.. Just saying. I would think offfers would be made around Labor Day as they will want to have everybody on board by September 27, the last Friday in the Fiscal year, I would think.. I told you guys and gals that they would hire by the Fiscal year end..

Thanks Bartleby. So, generally it looks like to me aljs in the past have always had a start date at the beginning of a pay period. Last pay period in September begins Sun. Sept 22 or for actual appearance sake that Mon. Do you think that might be the actual start?

Has anyone heard about any recent ALJ transfers? I was hoping for a small supplemental certificate to go along with the March certificate. As bartleby says "it doesn't cost anymore."

Actual hire date is on a Sunday, 9/22/2013, report date would be 9/23/2013, if everything goes as it always has, and this is one place they don't mess around with, usually. Although there was that wierd class 2 years ago where they didn't report until January... Hummmmmm.

Thanks MommaBear. I'm not on the March cert. I expanded my GAL in October, but not to include any of the cities on the cert. Just hoping for a long-shot supplemental cert. Good luck to all of those on the actual cert.

They already have a big enough cert to hire 30 (or more), and a large number of cities on the cert; they've been doing transfers all along. A supplemental cert would not appear to be necessary-- I'd be very surprised-- it would also take a bit of time they really don't have if they want the hiring done and people in place by FY end.
