My dates are 8/6 and 8/7. I made a reservation at the remodeled Hampton Inn nearby for 2 nights because the Embassy Suites is not accepting incoming guests for those dates.
Good Luck!

Sandiferhands, I got the same dates as you - Sep. 16 and 17. I was really hoping for that week but they are the worst possible dates. I was already going to be in DC for a national arbitration set for...you guessed it...Sep. 17. Working to get the arbitrtion rescheduled to Sep. 19 - fingers crossed. I really do not want to reschedule my dates with OPM. Thanks, Minny, hope to see you there. Actually, I'm set to start a two-week trial on that Monday (but the rest of my calendar is clear!!) We may not get called due to settling the case this month or not having discovery done by then. I don't think I'm going to burn my reschedule request just yet. Are you as amazed as I am at how they manged to get the ONE date that doesn't work for you??

Are there still people that have not received any notice at all? I haven't received any notice and am wondering if this is bad news for me.

I got 9/9 and 9/10. already booked into the (very expensive) Embassy Suites. I've never been to DC, and I don't want to spend a lot of time trying to find where I need to go, when my interview is at 8:15am. I think I'll wait to book hotel. Hotel prices at business hotels usually go down as the date approaches until the inventory is all booked up. The only risk in waiting is that the inventory runs out and you get stuck having to book a better room at a higher price, but the room rates won't go up unless they happen to schedule an Everybody Loves Obama and Gay Marriage Rally for the same dates. I think 3-4 weeks out is a good time to reserve, and I'm not going until the end of September. Depending on your date, you are also going to have to consider the parents of incoming college students as they will eat up some hotels. E Street (and make sure it is you note it is Northwest (NW) for purposes of telling a cabbie) is relatively easily accessible by the Metro system. Use the Metro site (I believe it is Metro opens doors.com) to plot your approach.

You can wear whatever will help you perform the best. If there was a dress code they would have said so in the email. No reason not to show up in sweat pants if those are your "thinking" pants. That's how it was when I took the WD. Everything from Jeans to suits.

I say business casual, as long as it's "real" business casual and not jeans or *gasp* something even more casual. Remember, look good, feel good, write good! I believe we already discussed this on the other "Let's Talk WD" thread where I disclosed my outfit for the WD/LBMT. But really, no one is grading you on your dress at the WD/LBMT. You can wear whatever will help you perform the best. If there was a dress code they would have said so in the email. No reason not to show up in sweat pants if those are your "thinking" pants. Just so long as your "thinking" parts cover your "business" I don't see why it matters and I certainly won't be wearing any kind of dress clothes.

HM...I have my interview on Friday the 13th....and I have to fly into DC on 9/11...funky not feel so much like world in funky's corner. HI Funky! I have the same dates as you. I thought I saw a thread in which you said you worked for ODAR. I used to work for ODAR. I wonder if this is the reason we are scheduled on the same dates/times. Also, I saw your theory that OPM grouped us by last names. My last name begins with an A. What does yours begin with?

Wearing a suit in Washington DC (which 19th-century business traveler guides used to refer to as "the tropics") in mid-August is a bit of a daunting prospect for those of us with WD/LBJT/SI slots in early-to-mid August. I will gladly wear courtroom attire for the hour-long SI, which I am assuming will be in an overly air-conditioned hotel suite... but for 6 hours of testing the day before, I intend to arrive as if dressed for a cruise-ship shuffleboard tournament, rather than for a Supreme Court argument. See me in seersucker...
