Alright folks. I just had to delete a thread due to unacceptable details re SI. I only deleted the thread this time. But next person to do this will get banned as an added bonus.
I understand folks are stressed out. But let's not cross the line here.

I got a couple PMs on this issue, and I don't want to send a bunch of PMs talking about the same thing. So let me clarify here: 1. This came up before a while back. Please see aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/1478/discussion-si-specifics2. Whatever decisions you make for the SI, whether procedural or substantive, stay with you. Please don't share your rationale and the background information with the rest of the world. 3. If you believe you botch the SI for whatever reason, don't post it on the forum and ask for appeal advice. 4. The post/thread I deleted also contained enough detailed information that OPM could probably identify the poster involved in real life just by checking the paperwork from today. Don't be that stupid. Lastly, yes, it's OK to talk about what to wear, how you feel, or logistical issues (i.e. exjag's post re his experiences is an excellent example) that have nothing to do with the actual SI procedures or substance. Please use your legal acumen and common sense and don't be caught breaching the confidentiality agreement on an open forum. As recent news have demonstrated, Internet privacy could be very illusionary. Now back to normal programming.

I have tried to see your point of view. Call me a hard-posterior or a humor-less donkey. But if you violate a confidentiality agreement and then think you are qualified to be a federal ALJ, then to me you are already on the slippery slope. How about this question for one of the candidate's references: "Ever know Candidate Slippery to cut a corner to achieve an end?" Maybe we should lobby to ensure it gets on the list.

Where is the LIKE button! I do not think the rules are arbitrary or stupid. I am sure that was meant to be funny, to add a little levity. I hope. Then again, this is a very serious issue and the confidentiality agreement is there for a reason. We need to respect it and respect the process.

I didn't take orly's post as calling following the rules to be arbitrary or capricious. I took it is orly is a poster whose primary enjoyment comes from putting memes and demotivational posters out there, you know, because that's all he does. And his name is orly.

Is there some particular reason to get personal about this? As far as orly's posting history, there's a lot more to it (prior to recent posts) than posting memes. For newcomers less familiar with orly's posts on this board, a few seconds clicking on pages of prior posts would reveal the actual history.

I have no personal ax to grind here. Its the message--not the messenger. Some of us have been around for quite a while and have gotten to know each other--some of us were in far different circumstances a few years back...just as some of y'all will (hopefully be) in years(s) yonder. That is, if you decide to give back, like orly, chinook, philliesfan, bartleby, deltajudge, ALJD, decadealj, workdrone, pixie, ruonthelist, etc (sorry if I didn't name you--but you know who you are...).

8-)privateatty, really don't know what SI is. Excuse my naivety. But anyway, if non-disclosure of any elements of it or anything else is included in any contract with ODAR, it should be abided by. I like giving my opinions but, but sad to say they are dated and lots of times, not relevant.

I had to re-read my post to see what was so offensive about it. The phrase "that's all he does" was poorly chosen. I am a fan of orly's demotivational posters, I have read his previous substantive posts (and yours, privateatty's, and a myriad of others), and I certainly did not mean it as an attack, as it was meant more as a defense of his earlier post. It was just very poorly executed. So orly, if I offended you, I sincerely apologize.

Well, I should apologize as well since my original point was merely that failure to follow rules (regardless of what you think of those rules) have consequences. That's all. Sorry for the poorly delivered humor this time, and hopefalj, no offense taken.

Sorry for the poorly delivered humor this time, and hopefalj, no offense taken. It's all good. I think we just focused on the wrong part of the message! Love the humor and keep those motivational posters coming! Have a good day everyone.

I like giving my opinions but, but sad to say they are dated and lots of times, not relevant. SI is structured interview--there are two Judge, one for OPM and one for SSA. And of course other Agencies do them too, but they are sometimes structured-- or not. The argument is that you have to compare apples to apples, thus the structure. When I did this, I made up a list of questions and practised every night with my wife. I had no interview history. I got better. She loved to interrupt (pet peeve anyone?) and the mental dexterity of "looping" one's thoughts was good practice indeed. Don't worry, sportsfans, they will likely let you finish...this is a very orderly process.

Privateatty, care to share your list? I would love to see it.
