On the issue of whether you have to absorb in your allotted time the time it may take to get a copy onto disc and also print out a copy-- do you have to budget time to copy onto disc, and print out hard copy(i.e. is the time given time to just write or time to do all the above) I wrote OPM, and OPM responded with "Due to the comprehensive examination and assessment process, we are unable to provide more specific information regarding the WD/LBMT and SI components at this time. Additional instructions/details will be provided once scheduling has closed." So hopefully they will clarify. In the meantime I'm planning on asking when we get there and otherwise budgeting extra time to fart around with the download/print out process. Hopefully the oracle will speak sometime shortly after Friday. I'm broinging what I want to write with, note pads etc. They want me to leave it at the door, that's fine--it's their party (and we'll cry if we want to) (you would cry too, if it happened to you) The old story........ ............the prints and the paupers. Didn't I tell you in another thread to leave this alone? You are getting close to a time out. Pixie

Your time here ain't long. Take heed. Pixie

I no longer have a dog in this fight, but if the hiring process shuts down, I could be without any future colleagues for a good long while....
We all understand that the best cure for stressed out OCD folks like myself is information: the more, the better. The more details I can determine ahead of time, the happier I am. I definitely obsessed over the board posts relative to every step of this process (once I found the board, that is). I even posted once about Applic well, you know.
I feel for those still on the register hoping to get that magical "you had me at hello" call. There are still a lot of folks who went through the testing process with far less information than I had or what is currently available to those about to test. Do they feel it's a bit unfair? I can't speak for them, but I can certainly empathize if they do feel that way. The process is lengthy and complex and great lengths are taken to ensure consistency of testing among applicants.
I also worry a bit (because worrying is a trait encoded in my DNA) that someone is going to post something that OPM will decide violates the CA. If that happens, then what? Do they invalidate part or all of the testing process and take a time out to develop a new test? What then to those waiting to head to DC for the proctored component?

The level of granularity on this thread and the SI thread is getting weird.

This and the SI thread are bolstering my confidence in my relative self-management competency.

This and the SI thread are bolstering my confidence in my relative self-management competency. Amen. Having been through the DC process once already, here's my advice. Show up on time and roll with it. It's fine.

The level of granularity on this thread and the SI thread is getting weird. The good news is that testing starts in less than a month. Unfortunately, it is going to last over 5 months. Time to buckle in for a long bumpy path to get to where everyone can turn their unhealthy obsession to guessing when NORs will be released.

Ear plugs it is. A more accurate description of what I was thinking of would be "noise cancelling ear muffs" -- the kind you would wear at a firing range, not anything that you could use to listen to music. A guy in my testing group in Sept 2015 wore firing range headphones for the WD. Whether or not he had to get prior approval to do so, I cannot say... That's enough reason for me to leave them at home. Although it would be a dream come true to get noticed by Pumpkin, I don't want to be memorable for that reason. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

I'm always hopeful that the Canadian robes come into style. Would love to see someone show at their interview rocking the Santa style robe. ![](http://i.huffpost.com/gen/1465133/images/o-SUPREME-COURT-OF-CANADA-facebook.jpg)

Pixie--regarding your comment, I thought that quoting what they said in an email about what they might add later was OK--after all it was in an email from OPM, etc. Not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand the parameters. For instance posting an email about the location of the SI was OK. But posting their response to my inquiry is I'm told close to the line. Maybe I'm obtuse but I'm not seeing why one OK, one is near the line. (note I'm not quoting the above refernced item, so not trying to republish--just looking for illumination).
Thanks!

Pixie- On the issue of posting on two threads. Actually, the SI location posting was in error, so I then "corrected" by posting under the other thread. With three threads that ocasionally overlapped--logistics, location/travel, testing in DC--then getting into the weeds of one, a writer can forget where they are. So it was that I doddered over to the other thread and plotzed there as well--no bad intent, just a bit of confusion.
And thinking that OPM's reaction could be added to general information as it was there.....so it was it happened x 2

Pixie's wisdom is exceeded only by her sense of justice (& fair & comely appearance and intellect).

foghorn, really? You are describing Pixie by her avatar. Her avatar "appearance" trumps her long-standing leadership and wisdom on this Board? Be careful there, sailor, lest you draw consternation
