just received an email with the heading "ALJ Instructor Solicitation."
----------------------------------------------------
This solicitation is being released to #ODAR ALL ALJs and #ODAR All RO Mgmt Teams
We are soliciting volunteers for Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) instruction in Fiscal Year 2014. Even if you have instructed in the past, please submit a new statement of interest.
In addition to traditional in-person new ALJ, supplemental ALJ, and annual Judicial Training, there will be training opportunities to conduct one-on-one or small group sessions virtually or in person for experienced judges. We have sent an additional solicitation for judges experienced in the use of eBB to train other judges on this new tool. This solicitation is in addition to the one recently shared asking for responses in regard to eBB instructors and cadre members.
Classroom instructors travel to the training location, generally for one week at a time, and may be asked to participate in more than one training session during the training year. In addition, instructors participate on conference calls, and spend time familiarizing themselves with the training materials before training sessions. Instructors and developers of materials for virtual environments may participate in calls, may train via video, live meeting or other modalities.
Those who wish to be considered must submit their name and a brief statement of interest, including any previous training experience, and training topic areas of interest on the appropriate form. Feel free to include information about any experience you have had with group presentations, training or teaching in settings other than ODAR. Please provide information about your skills and experience in the use of ODAR technology tools such as video hearings, eBB and How MI Doing. Please also indicate if you are interested in training other ODAR personnel, in addition to or besides judges. Instructors should be conversant in using the FIT enhanced templates or electronic Benchbook, or willing to be trained in the use of those applications. (Click on the link below to access the solicitation form.)
ALJ Instructor Solicitation
The solicitation responses will be compiled by the Division of Training and Human Resources (DTHR). Hearing Office Directors, Regional Management Officers, and Regional Training Coordinators will be sent a list of those employees who have volunteered from their regions and asked to provide recommendations. A complete list of all interested employees will be forwarded to the Office of the Chief Administrative Law Judge (OCALJ) to make selections and to notify those selected to participate as the opportunities present themselves.
Please complete and submit your statement of interest by COB Friday, March 7, 2014.
