I just finalized all the documents and sent them back to SSA. All my references are up to speed. I just need an interview date, no call yet. Ditto. Docs sent, no interview date yet. There are MANY of us in this same boat and the reverse, some have interviews but no emails yet. I am sure Bob and company are crazy busy!

My interview is set for 11/14, and then they sent a couple of emails about travel arrangements. The second asked for my SSN so that they could set up my travel profile, which supposedly takes a couple of days. So I'm waiting to be able to make those travel arrangements. If you are already a federal employee, I think you already have that profile.

For those of you who have already scheduled interviews, how long did it take to receive email confirmation with travel arrangement information? In the first cert, it was at least several days.

I have never had anything that I have written published. Do I leave that section blank? Does that hurt me?

I have never had anything that I have written published. Do I leave that section blank? Does that hurt me? The 2014 form sent in the 2nd email does not include that requirement. Make sure you have the right form! Specifically look at the form date. The 2011 form has different criteria than the 2014. Bob sent a corrected email about it. If you do not have the corrected email check spam.

I feel like a total slacker. I'm about halfway through the forms, but I have contacted most of my references.

I really should check before guessing but really don't care to look since I am over that hurdle, but if I am right, it is another reason to make sure you have the correct form. Anyway, I think the new form makes crystal clear that you cannot duplicate supervisors/ references. Really was a kick in the pants...

Anyway, I think the new form makes crystal clear that you cannot duplicate supervisors/ references. Really was a kick in the pants... Last time around, the work history was limited to ten years, now it's 15. (In 2010, we had to list every job since we passed the bar! ) We couldn't duplicate listed supervisors and references last time, either, but for those of us who've had one job in the last 10/15 or more years, there's a lot of supervisors from the distant past we can use as references.

I am still waiting on my travel/interview call. I am in private practice so it will take some jumping through hoops to clear my schedule on any given day...patience, patience, patience...sigh

Steel, aren't you trying to wind your practice down? I know it's a gamble before the interview, but I hope you've got other attorneys you can transfer cases to. Cautiously optimistic at this point, but you could be reporting for ALJ duty on January 26 - 12 weeks from now - yikes! It took me 3 -4 months to wind down my practice, so good luck.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the forms kind of intimidating. I have seven of my nine references locked down (which took the better part of yesterday) and hope to have the other two on board by the end of today. Of course, the previous sentence does not express just how nerve-wracking it is tracking down so many different people in (for my case) so many different geographic locations and time zones, on such a tight time-table (I envy those of you who locked your references down in anticipation of the cert coming out Monday).
The work history going back 15 years is also a little unusual. The ALJ demographics poll posted elsewhere on this board shows that there's a not insignificant number of ALJs between 34 and 40. This means the work history for some of us will go all the way back to age 19: waiting tables, delivering pizza, folding jeans...
Here's an actual question (as opposed to a random musing): for those of us who have served at multiple ODAR locations, I suppose we have to list each one, including the GS and HOCALJ at each location? The form is not 100% clear on that point, but I'd rather err on the side of caution and list all three of my stops (and everyone I've reported to along the way).

I am a partner in a large firm so winding down for me is more about reassigning case files and assisting with client retention issues. Luckily I do not have any trials in the next 12 weeks. I am more concern with trying to clear 1-2 days with less than a week's notice for the interview.
