Any room for a teetotaler in this crowd? If it helps, I'm happy to be the designated driver!

I do not usually drink beer. But when I do, I prefer ALJ Ale.

I found the exam to be nowhere near as hard as the bar exam. The interview is intense but doable. No one need be overly apprehensive
As far as the scores are concerned, they are what they are. Some people did better on parts of the exam than others, that's all. In the end, I believe, what gets you hired off the register is the agency interview, your experience and your references. Judicial temperament, aka judginess, is a good thing to have.

Yeah, the hotel bar was important but quite honestly, the cigarette I had after emerging from OPM testing day was the best d#*m one I had. That was not a week to think about quitting! I'll need to keep this in mind... That's exactly what I had in mind!

From the looks of it, this group may need a DD. All jokes aside, since I'm approaching the half century mark of being clean and sober - obviously I'm used to being the DD and comfortable in that role. We just need to find a high performance school bus and make it a memorable ride.

Pixie's most famous and memorable quote going back eight years in relation to Puzzle Palace's strange hiring was that "scores don't matter." She was scoffed at but time proved her wisdom true. Likewise, this idea of folks who did/did not appeal being given a second chance by OPM feeling less than equal is simply giving air to some old grievance un-related to the matter at hand. It is offensive to all of us. Do you think Chief Judges of other Agencies go around and compare their NOR scores? Please. They could have been the lowest scoring candidate picked up by Puzzle Palace that year. marten77's great post posits the ultimate truth: he (I assume) is willing to go to bat again and maybe strike out but also maybe hit a home run. That's all that matters at this point. Frankly, I'm real glad marten77 decided to take the plunge. He's already halfway there with that sense of humor and judicial wisdom.

When I sit down to family dinners some evenings with spouse and offspring present there can be a half dozen or more "doctors" gathered round the table. As the wine and assorted libations freely flow the spirited argument always arises as to whom are the "real" doctors vs. the "faux" doctors. (Albeit I myself am designated to the latter)
In the end, and by the time the bottles have been tapped, the results are the same, a doctor is a doctor is a doctor regardless of degree.
The same holds true here, in the end, after the congratulatory handshake occurs in Falls Church, an ALJ is an ALJ is an ALJ regardless of NOR.
Each of us still get paid every 2 weeks.

I suspect opm's action with the register is analogous to the Ole funkster's beer fridge. When having a soiree, many the time I've gone to the old suds locker and pulled out the Stella, Guiness and Yuengling to place before my guests. On occasion, during the occasion, I'll take note that said refreshments are being guzzled with reckless abandon. So, it's back to the fridge for the second shelfers, the Heineken, Buds and Coors. It's not that my guests don't like the first on offer, just that I fear their thirst and my supply are about to have a devastating convergence. I merely pray I won't happen to open the bottom drawers and unleash the Keystone Light. I can't believe that I missed this conversation, but I'm doing a travel docket and out of my normal routine.
My ears were burning yesterday around 4 PM, so it must of been the beer fridge posts! Only question I would have is "where does Miller Lite" fit in the funkster's beer fridge? And when did Buds or Coors make it to the second shelf? Out west, they love their Coors. I would continue, but all this talk is making me thirsty. tiger

I am new to the site, and I'm in the eliminated-after-second-round-given-opportunity-to-move-forward-and-supposed-to-hear-after-August-21 group. I have a question for you all. What was the lag time between the WD/LBMT/SI and the notification of your results? Weeks? Months?
Thanks.

What was the lag time between the WD/LBMT/SI and the notification of your results? Weeks? Months? Thanks. Months. We all got our results on or about 3/13/2014. However, we tested on different dates. I tested in DC on 9/4-5/2013. Others tested earlier. Others tested later. So we didn't all wait the same length of time.

Yep but maybe a wee bit less since we had the government shut down figured into the mix.

I offer this appendix to my earlier comment: The only aspect of this process measured in weeks is the time between Bob or Mellinda's call and your report date.

I was just curious, because the process seems to jump along it fits and starts. Thank you for the responses.
