There is a new thread on the ALJ Improvement Board (infiltrated by trolls to the point of being worthless) purportedly by "Pixie" saying that ALJ offers will go out the end of next week and continuing the following week.

Pixie, is that you- or your alter-ego?

If it's the real Pixie, the rest of you better start changing your bets on the first offer!

I think it is real. Pixie is a longstanding member of the other board, and until recently, was well received there. Pixie posted the above while logged in; I think it is legitimate.

This is kinda strange. No comment to Pixie's post on the other board and no post by Pixie on this board. An experiment? An impostor? I doubt it because someone would have kidnapped her identity long before now on the other board if they could. I'm inclined to believe the post is sincere, but the the order of posting by "Pixie" challenges my sense of reality.

Perhaps it is a tip of the hat to Ben, who is making great strides to clean the other board up.

Pixie has been a counselor and friend to all of us. I stand with her and, until I hear otherwise from Pixie herself, I do not credit that posting.

ML is absoultely right -- Pix has been like a guardian angel, and has always been there for us. In fact, "her" message on the other board is consistent with what she posted on this board last week (several times)! I had then, and continue to have faith in her and her prediction.

I heard today that SSA plans to send the list of names to OPM on 2/28. Presumably, this would be the names of all who accepted the offers. Does this sound right to you? I guess SSA has to tell OPM who they plan to hire.

Yes, SSA will have to send the hiring information to OPM. Doubt that all will be concluded and that it will go to OPM on the 28th, though. But it is possible. Pix.

Some day it will be apparent to me why I let this whole process overtake my otherwise enjoyable life. And on that day perhaps it will also be made clear to me why I hitched my star upon the unverified and unverifiable musings of pseudonyms and confected avatars. Do not get me wrong. I appreciate it all and check the board often. I just know that if I heard my state of mind and routine about this process explained to me as I might try to explain it to someone else, they would think me a little off, like 12.04 listing material, eh?

yeah, I understand. I told my wife this evening that we would probably know something in the next 1 to 2 weeks, and she wanted to know how I knew this; "well, you see there is this Pixie, and ...."

Needless to say, my wife has her doubts, but I believe in the Pixie!

So what does your wife say when you leave a saucer of milk out at night for the pixies? That's a tried and true method of appeasing the magic ones, especially in Scotland and Ireland. It was usually observed by those who must walk upon the moors at night. Pixies were notorious for intercepting non believers on the Scottish moors and changing their attitude toward the ones with magical powers.

My husband is a strong believer (obviously) and frequently leaves cookies as well as the milk. He really doesn't want an attitude adjustment! Pix.

I have said here in the past that offers would be coming out in 2 to 3 weeks--that was a couple of weeks ago. And they will be, to begin at the end of next week and to be completed by the following week. When I saw you guys in a pool or something trying to guess the date, I thought, "All they have to do is to look at my prior posts to get a good idea of the date." Oh well, so short lived is adulation!

You will get more notice than in the past--more in line like the last class got--over a month to maybe two months. As I have cautioned in the past, all of this is subject to change, and the offers may get pushed back a few days. Probably will be by the old fashioned telephone call.

Getting close now. Start getting plenty of sleep, because by next Thursday or Friday, anticipation will preclude a good night's sleep. Pix.

I guess I will re-fill that sleeping pill prescription.

I don't know the exact date in April, but they are definitely gearing up to have the first class on board then. So, you will get plenty of notice this time around. I had originally heard March 17, but like a lot of things, that got pushed back.
