In light of all of the rather intense discussions regarding productivity, locations, etc., I felt that I needed to take a breather and try to find a refuge from the stress of the waiting process and retreat, if only briefly, to a kinder, simpler place and time. As luck would have it, while channel-surfing the other night, I found just what I was looking for: "Beach Blanket Bingo" starring none other than Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon. I have to say that my refuge the past week has been Turner Classic Movies/TCM's 31 Days of Oscar (though "Beach Blanket Bingo" is probably not among the showings). The other night as I was curled up in my winter lair hibernating, I got lost in "Gone with the Wind" and "Wuthering Heights" which I hadn't seen in ages. For those of you who want a distraction, check out the upcoming offerings on TCM's website: www.tcm.com/thismonth/index/. Now it's back to hibernating (yawn) ... Sheesh, quit your snoring, Yogi! If you want the ultimate "Gone With the Wind" experience, catch the flick at the Fabulous Fox Theatre Summer Film Festival in Atlanta. Sit in a 3200-seat theater auditorium as the movie plays and realize you are the only one there who is not reciting every line in the movie with the on-screen characters.
May I have a "fiddle-dee-dee" from the lovely Jagghagg?

CTB- Sorry I missed your earlier post- went skiing-
But, yes I do believe Agent 99 was no singer. But, I think she was "mouthing the words" as I had to do in church because, unlike the "real Tootsie," I am SO tone deaf! These days (ahem) people ask me to "lip-synch" to Happy Birthday! AND I have to agree with you, Emma Peel was, in today's parlance, "HOT!" And. we both have one thing in common: we look good in black!
