I'm watching the awards, and I had a thought. If I get the call, I will probably have a feeling just described by Stephen Spielberg when he won - a warmth spreading out all over. The good news for me would be that the award (job offer) would last me the rest of my career, and I wouldn't have to settle for lesser jobs after winning the big award ( i.e. Cuba Gooding Jr. - Pepsi commercials and Rat Race and Marisa Tomei (although, in fairness excellent in theater).
So in hope of being offered the Academy Award of ODAR opportunities - I propose this thank you speech . . .
I wish to thank my trainers - Joe Gold and Hilda Silver - 12 1/2 years later I still refer to their sage advice. I thank Harold Speer, my supervisory staff attorney who was a great teacher and advisor. Thanks to all those writers who answered my questions, helped me read queries, listened to my rationale on issues of first impression for me, gave me feed back, and pointed out when I was worrying over issues that really didn't matter to the out come of the case. I thank the supervisors I have had from whom I've learned much and who, I trust, gave favorable recommendations. I thank my family who is willing to support me in this endeavor and move to parts unknown to see me succeed. (Except my 12 year old son who really isn't rooting too much because he thinks he'll never make any other friends if he has to move).
Finally, I thank this support group who has informed me, encouraged me, laughed with me, and made me just this much less paranoid. Thank you all!
