There are still folks in the mid to high seventies that haven't gotten the call but also people lower who have. My take is that its just different callers with different stacks to work through. I agree, but then of course there is also the unknown.....which cities are on the cert and are they on your GAL? I suspect my GAL is too slim (wife-approved language) to see a call this batch. But then who knows! Staying in touch with whatever zen I can muster..

My GAL is wide enough i should get reached, esp since folks with lower scores have been reached. so i'd be willing to bet money they are not done calling everyone yet.

Good luck to all interviewing! Take a deep breath, relax (but not too much haha) and be yourself. You'll do great!

Another interesting point... that I missed the first time. They got an email which said that they wanted to schedule an interview but opm did not send a contact number. If the person was still interested please call as soon as possible to schedule a date and time.
Sorry ladies and gents ... looks like it time to start checking spam filters ... again.

I got the call early Friday morning (I'm on the west coast), but my phone was off so the nice person left me a voice mail. My phone however did not alert me that I had a voicemail until 5:30pm. I'll call her back Monday. See you guys this May!

I have phone numbers. If you PM me the name of the person who emailed, I'll see if it matches with any of the numbers I have.

I'm sure this has been asked before, but does SSA ever call a person and offer an ALJ position at more than one location to that person?

When you get the offer call (none can yet be made by the SSA because no SSA certs are outstanding at this time), you will be asked to accept a position at 1 city. You do not have to accept the offer, but if you decline the offer, then that city will be permanently removed from your GAL for the remainder of the current register.
Other candidates waiting for an offer hope that the circumstance on declining an offer takes place fairly fast so the SSA will then proceed with making an offer to the next person in line. You do have 24 hours to accept or reject, but I would say that a vast majority of those of us still on the register have often joked that they will accept the moment the phone call is received. This is because most of us have not listed a city on our GAL unless we are willing to stay in that location for up to 2 years. Transfers can now be requested after 15 months.
Of course, sometimes circumstances change and candidates are no longer willing to consider certain locations. If this happens before you can amend your GAL to take off a city, the remaining candidates hope that such candidate will say "no" rather quickly to the offer so the next person on the list can be given the offer for a particular city.

Thanks for the info. ...still confused, but thanks I guess I'm not sure I understand the confusion. You either accept or decline the offer made. There may be a subsequent offer but you aren't going to get a door #2.

To follow up on what I just said a bit here is maybe a little information that makes it make sense.
The hiring decisions are made before any calls are made. Each offer is slotted in an order that allows them to get specific candidates into the top 3 in given locations. So there really isn't a way for them to do that if they give people door #1 and door #2 scenarios.

So here's a question about people being called for interviews.
If you are on the register, you WILL be interviewed at some point, correct?
So for anyone who is on the register and is now fretting about not yet being called for an interview, it just means that you may not have been called because they are working to get "reachable for this cert" people interviewed, but you WILL be interviewed at some point when you become reachable, right? Maybe when the next cert comes down the pike?

When you get on a cert is when you will be interviewed. What is your latest item to worry about? Pixie.

Maybe when the next cert comes down the pike? Not necessarily. If your score and GAL combined never make you reachable for a cert, you will never be on a list of eligibles and so will never be interviewed by an agency.

Responding to Pixie's post above Gary's...
Umm, nothing, I guess. I was asking to reassure others who seem to be worrying. Not the best idea, apparently.
