I appealed my result from March 2016 application. I was advised I didn't give enough information regarding Bar admission. I timely appealed giving all information.
However my status in application manager does not indicate appeal pending and has not changed. Is this the norm or should it reflect that an appeal is pending?
Any insight would be most appreciated. Thanks

I don't know how if at all an appeal is noted in that place Pixie will slap me down for if I name it.
I suggest you email the OPM ALJ help desk and ask about whether they've got your appeal.
Appeals generally take a long time. I think it was not until mid to late 2015 for most (all?) appeals from the 2013 testing to be resolved, but somebody else may be more knowledgable about this. I hope you have better experience with yours.

The address OPM has on its website is:
aljapplication@opm.gov

OPM sends you a confirmation email once you submit your appeal, usually within a day or so. I don't believe application manager status will change as a result of submitting an appeal. You will not hear back as to the result of the appeal for some time.

Yeah, they don't adjudicate appeals until after all of the other applicants have gone through the WD/SI portion of the testing and received a Notice of Results (NOR). It'll be quite a while.
(If I'm misremembering, please jump in.)

Yeah, they don't adjudicate appeals until after all of the other applicants have gone through the WD/SI portion of the testing and received a Notice of Results (NOR). It'll be quite a while. (If I'm misremembering, please jump in.) That sounds right. If I'm not mistaken, I didn't hear back that my 2013 appeal was denied until before the 2016 application opened. It took so long, I had forgotten all about the whole thing.

It took so long, I had forgotten all about the whole thing. I have to warn everyone that I haven't done my due diligence on this answer, and, in fact, I don't know what I'm talking about. That said: I think the responses to the appeals are going to come out much faster than last time. Because I appealed 2013, I paid attention to the boilerplate about appeals this time. I think SBB is essentially right- the results will come out in time to get back on the train if you win, whereas in 2013 you waited until people had completed the process. In hindsight, that was not so bad, as the train returned to the station two or three times for more passengers. (Metaphor mode off.) Now, this is why I said that I am not to be trusted on any of this: I am now speculating, and saying something that is going to be bad news to the original poster in this subthread. Again, I speak with no authority, but I am not optimistic for you if you failed to put in a date for bar admission or some such. Unless they have changed the approach to the application process-- and I have heard things that implied that they have, so YMMV-- I would think that it does not matter if you have X necessary qualification if you did not properly phrase your statement of x necessary qualification. My crash and burn in 2013 phase one is out there on the board: it basically boiled down to the fact that I did not list month and year of my experience at every opportunity to list month and year, and as such I did not demonstrate that my 25 years of litigation experience constituted 10 years of litigation experience. Given a second bite at the apple, I was certainly able to prove that I had at least ten years, and I surmounted that hurdle three years later. It may be that they look not at whether you have the qualification, but whether you showed in your initial application that you had the qualification. If they boofed you for not putting date of bar admission, under the old regime it would boot you nothing to show that you are properly admitted. That may have changed, I hope it has, and I wish you the best. Be prepared for harshness, and I hope you will be pleasantly surprised and I will be proven wrong.

I appealed my notice based on March 2016 application. I hadn't given enough info for Bar admission. 😢
It seemed like it was received but application manager does not reflect this appeal status. Is this the norm or should it reflect appeal status ? I'm concerned y appeal not received.
Thanks for any info you can provide !

hopeful92, AM is not always synchronized with actual status. If you've ever applied for any other jobs thru usajobs, check those as well - you'll likely see differences even from the status page of your usajobs account to the AM section. You might consider emailing the ALJ help desk for an update - I believe they're really good at responding in short order. Good luck on the appeal!

Hmm... now that a handful of folks have received a FOASH email this week... can any of them confirm whether they switched over to See Details as in the past?

Ty. Do you have that email address? I still can't believe I was denied bc didn't out bar number. Search it here. There is a lot of precedence. How else do you think OPM and the Agencies can go from 5000 applicants to maybe 200-300 hires? Testing? There is also precedence for winning such a one as yours, but as gary noted, it can take two years. And BTW, folks have been bounced for not putting the Bar number in the right format. Good luck on your appeal.

You are not the only one who is nervous. Every since we received word of the emails, checking my email daily multiple times daily is giving me mini myocardial infarctions!
