Whoa. I'd appeal. I applied for Jag fresh out of law school. I got an email congratulating me on my selection, then an hour later I got an email saying it was sent in error. I just finished my celebratory drink... and had to pour another to digest the bad news. They felt bad, and they actually assigned me to a real person who walked through the steps and told me why I did not get selected. It truly sucks. I sincerely hope you get through without needing to appeal. There's nothing to appeal yet. I hate seeing stuff like this, as I thought they'd have their act together better this time around. Hopefully it is not an indicator of bad news to come. Yeah, this is a real thump in the berries. Sorry it happened to you. The one bit of admittedly poor solace is they caught it pretty soon. In my opinion the folks that have been the most royally hosed in this process are those few that made it all the way to DC, on their own dime, then were told they would not be getting an NOR because someone messed up way back at phase 1 and didn't catch a bar membership/active licensure issue. Imagine putting 2 years into it, stressing and waiting at every step, paying for airfare and hotel to DC, going through that hell and then being told "whoops, our bad, you shouldn't have been let thru the first door."

You are so right, Funky. Those are the ones I never understood. Add to that the ones where that got caught at the beginning, but some got through with just a month and a year of admission, while others were dinged for not having a complete date- month, day and year.

Hi everybody! (*waving*) I know...It's been a long time...but I'm baaaack!!...Sorry I stayed away so long...as some of you may remember, I didn't make it to the third round last time and I was so disappointed (in myself) :-( ...and as someone said earlier in this thread, this forum DOES get addictive so I had to get off for awhile...BUT now that we are back in the game...how can I stay away...LET'S GOOOOOOO! We are in this together...all worrying and waiting...and praying...Good luck everybody!! I am rooting for all of us...ESPECIALLY those who were here with me in 2013 and suffered the heartbreak along with me. :-) (((HUGS))) Let's do this!!

I did get my email two days ago. Was rather shocked at the fast turnaround time. I seem to have the same time frame for taking it as the others have mentioned. So exciting! Good luck! We can never have too many Trekkers in the fleet. :-) Make it so.

I was one of those last time around. I had a judicial employee "in good standing" license and fully explained it as an equivalent of an active license in the initial application. They passed me all the way through the DC testing. But then, when NORs came out, I got a disqualification notice. I now have a regular active license, so I went ahead and applied again. I almost passed on applying again though since I am quite happy in my current position and have a small area of where I am willing to go, so my odds are limited. But then I figured, what the heck, I would try again. Anyway, I got the notice for the online component. I am curious to see if it will differ at all from last time! At least I have familiarity on my side now.

While I am happy for all of you, I am extraordinarily so for those that got unceremoniously canned in 2013 and are now back in the game. Best of luck all, but especially superbonbon, pubdef, trekker, auroraborealis, msp, and wingnut.
May the Funk be with you.
EDIT to add lawbird and seaside to the list of the 2013 cadre back to take another swing. Good luck everybody. just saw this - thanks Honorable funkyodar !

I'm back! Here to support and contribute when I can. I didn't make it past the SJT last time. Here's hoping to improve my batting average. Good luck to all!

I am jumping back in as well. I liked the way Milliron posted in another thread about viewing the process as a hobby. I enjoy the humor and camaraderie of the board. And I am happy to say that this time around I am not and will not obsessively check in with "voldemort."

I am with your futurealj and operationalj. I am back as well and ready to cheer for the team and give what ever tiny bit of insight I am able for all of us. As has been said before in a much more articulate way than I can formulate, this is not a sprint. Work out, take water and breath!!!!!
