Very interesting reading. Looks like the HOCALJ at Fort Lauderdale will have much explaining to do. Thanks for providing the link to the report. It was definitely educational.

Brutal/ugly. Right now, I sure would not want to be the Fort Lauderdale HOCALJ slammed by the audit. . . How will the agency handle the situation?

The only thing that bothers me, is he was using selected reps. I'm retired now but was still employed as an ALJ when the fallout from the HPI disaster was descending, and in the middle of all this, here comes electronic processing. Our HOCALJ was about the only in the office doing raw files, and dismissing HRQs with no recon, or late filings for request for hearings and this was on a random basis. I didn't care, because I didn't do raw files until just before I retired and then only for OTRs and never dismissed a case for late filings. Everybody knew what was going on, but nobody cared. No big deal anyway, with the huge backlog, there were plenty of cases to go around.

There is an intimation that the HOCALJ position in question is already vacant.

No "intimation"; it was vacant as of a few days ago.

It was in our email on Monday afternoon. I did not pay much attention because we see these positions advertised all the time. Later at home IG report was posted on the AALJ board by a member.
