I work at SSA OGC in Kansas City - we were all supposed to turn our computers off [instead of just logging out] at the end of the workday Friday - I think it was for some kind of SSA wide computer maintenance, although I don't remember for sure. This morning I tried to log onto my SSA email from home, and it's down.

Is it possible that there is some kind of government wide computer maintenance going on this long weekend that affects SSA and OPM? Just a thought. I'd like to believe we are getting results on Tuesday, but will not hold my breath.

You are right about the SSA shutdown, there were emails about this and the fact that it would include OWA and blackberries. It is a regular maintenance interval. Whether OPM's regular maintenance schedule just happened to coincide or whether something else is happening is anyone's guess.
