Any truth to the rumor that OPM will now be conducting SIs through the first week of October?

Ouch! Hope not, I'm tired of waiting and wondering.

I'm in the appeal process not the SI process but I can tell you this: They had planned to defer appeals until after processing the people who did make the first cut. Originally I heard we could expect a ruling on my appeal in October. I read somewhere that has slipped to late October/early November timeframe. Therefore, I speculate that the SI process is taking longer than expected.

It's always possible that some SI's are scheduled for October but the question as to the latest date for an SI was raised on the old Board more than once and no one knew of any interviews scheduled in October. I don't know of any and I assume if someone knows of one they will let us know. I suspect that if any are scheduled into October it's just a few that needed to reschedule their September dates. OPM seems to be very much on schedule.

On the old board the last SI anyone reported was the week of 9/24.

A reliable source has confirmed SIs in the first week of October. However, the same source says OPM is up to date grading the WDs. While OPM appears to be on track and scores could theoretically be issued before November 1st, it seems to be wishful thinking we will hear something in October. Does OPM ever underpromise and overperform? Good luck to all.

My SI is next week, but I have wondered what they would do if bad weather grounded flights for an entire day or two. I'm assuming OPM had a contingency plan to finish interviews for people who had those types of issues. It would explain some overflow into the first week of October since September was the last month for SI on the original schedule.

I had my SI yesterday, and was told they there are SIs scheduled during the 1st week of October. I know that I was given an explanation for this, but was simply too nervous to remember it.

When I took my SI, I noticed a sign on the door of the room serving as the waiting area that it was reserved through 9/28 for ALJ interviews.
Anyone notice a new sign on the door?

I just heard that the September 28 sign is still on the door, but the last SI is now October 5 regardless of the sign

Knowing how things work in government, those having their SI the first week of October will probably have to wait in a closet somewhere. ;D

Thanks. I just noticed that in modifying my member profile I could add an avatar. The only little trick is that I couldn't figure out how to do a straight upload, but if you have a link to a pic that you would like to use for your avatar, then copy the link into the avatar http address box, set the size parameters (100 by 100 max), save your modifications, and voila, you have an avatar!

The last SIs were conducted 10/4. I was there for both the WD and SI October 2 and 3.

Hi Crazybroad,
How did you wind up in the extra week? Did you reschedule earlier dates or win an appeal?

zia234 -
They had posted their plans for maintenance several days ago. This fact doesn't mean, however, that what you suggest isn't possible, but it could just as easily be unrelated.
