Based on this listing, 4 cities were left off of my location selections. (Houston, Fort Worth, Charlotte, and Tulsa). Looks like Louisiana picked up the most judges with 12.

I must be a fool to think that I stand a chance in this game when there were 18 positions open in the 7 cities I had on the cert and i didn't get one. Can you spell I-D-I-O-T? What the **** am I doing here? Just wasting everyone's time including mine. Sorry for that. I'm outta here.

Oh, CB - I hate to see that kind of response, but I think I understand.... Only 2 cities on my list will filled, 3 slots. I have a "high" score and a disability vet preference. Rumor has it all slots filled by insiders. Hard for me to figure that there were 3 disabled Vets inside SSA with better scores than I. Modified - oops, sorry, I misspoke: they did not have to have a better score than I; SSA just cannot pass a preference eligible for a non-preference eligible. So my score could be garbage as long as the selectee was preference eligible. More the sorrow to me...

Seven Fields, PA got 4 judges. It's located near Pittsburgh, so maybe it counted as Pittsburgh

Was Seven Fields, PA, listed along with Pittsburgh, PA, on the FEAI that candidates on the Certificate received? If not, knownuthin' answer seems probable. There is a difference between Seven Fields, PA, and Pittsburgh, PA, similar to the difference between Arlington, VA, or Washington, DC, and Rockville, MD. . . I think I would feel like the stooge in a "bait-and-switch" if I wanted Pittsburgh, PA, but SSA was really thinking "Seven Fields, PA."

I know that Pittsburgh in this case WAS 7 fields. The 7 Fields office was not opened until 11/.07 and was not on the list for that reason. The "REAL" Pittsburgh office had no openings and is fully staffed. All offers for "Pittsburgh" went to 7 Fields.

And, no candidate who completed the AR in May 2007 could have designated Seven Fields on the candidate's geographic preference list because, well, Seven Fields did not exist in May 2007. Hmmm, seems to me that OPM should have contacted every candidate; informed the candidate that there was at least one new choice for the geographic preference list; and asked the candidate if the candidate would like to include the new choice on the candidate's geographic preference list. By Fall 2007, I would have opted for Seven Fields, as I have a dear friend who lives now in Cranberry Township, the neighboring town. . . I wonder, when did people who were interviewing for Pittsburgh learn that they were interviewing instead for Seven Fields?

I suspect they were notified it was Seven Fields when they got the email offering them an ALJ job there. I had Pittsburgh on my list along with 8 other locations. There was no discussion of locations at all during the interviews and I would be quite surprised to hear that anyone got any additional information outside of the interviews. My understanding (which I probably got from this board or the other one) was that the new 7 Fields office was meant to be an expansion of the Pittsburgh office - so I suspected that if I got an offer for Pittsburgh, it would be one or the other.
