So, as we sit and wait, I decided to post a random fact of the day. I'll just do a search every day and throw it up here to hopefully distract us from the wait. Whatever the first result is, I'll post it.
The wingspan of a 747 is longer than the first flight by the Wright brothers.

I was one of the first passengers on the 747 on a high school trip to Europe. We landed at Paris Orly. The stewardesses handed out menus for our inflight meals. And free pillows and blankets. The second deck lounge had a piano and bar.
And we only took our shoes off once on board.

I like this game:
Did you know that the surface area of Russia is greater than that of Pluto?
And, in a related factoid, it is possible to travel, on foot, from Norway to North Korea and only cross Russia.

Bayou, as long as you post in this thread you should be OK. You should, however, stay away from the technical discussions in the Music Thread. I thought of you today. A friend of mine and I went to a guitar store. It was a huge store with thousands of guitars and amplifiers. I knew if you had been along, your poor head would be swimming.
Did you know that Alaska has more coastline than all of the rest of the US?

It is not possible, given today's technology, to get an 11 on the pots (potentiometers). Pixie

Irene Triplett, an octogenarian daughter of a Civil War veteran, still collects her father's veterans benefit of $73.13 a month. That war ended in 1865

It would take 6 million M&Ms to weigh as much as Michaelangelo's marble statute of David.

I really think it would be a neat idea if we could place these nuggets in our decisions - especially the denials. A few spaces after the signature block with some asterisks we could let them know a "fun fact" about Pluto or Russia or the Wright Brothers, etc. I think it might brighten their day and maybe get them to think about other things than, for example, killing me.
Or maybe even include like a fortune cookie or something.
It'd be fun for all of us.

I'm a complete NODAR (and they seem determined to keep me that way) so what do I know, BUT it seems to me "fun facts" would go down better in a fully favorable. Losing parties tend to have limited senses of humor.

That Daisy Duck's nieces are named April, May, and June? Or that Daisy Duck has nieces.
