That the possibility of receiving a NOR causes relatively normal people to go crazy and Pixies to lock threads? Now you know. People, this is beyond just silliness; it is gross silliness and makes more work for me than I want to put into silliness. If it had a purpose I wouldn't mind it, but it doesn't. Now that it is almost midnight, I think I will unlock the thread and put this post into the thread that may not be mentioned.

May 25th is both National Wine Day and National Tap Dance Day. Now that you know, please celebrate accordingly.

That the male wren builds the nests for the female? I say nests because he builds several of them, and the female picks the one she likes best. The wren nests are unlike any other bird nests. The preferred location is a hanging plant, or other plant off the ground. First the wren digs a hole in the dirt. Then he builds a tunnel like nest down into the hole that is difficult for predators to spot.

If you’ve lived in the South for any period of time, you’ve heard the phrase “blackberry winter." This describes a cold snap that occurs during the Spring when the flowering plants are blooming in different parts of the country. This term isn’t defined officially by any meteorological organization but the cold snap that took place earlier in May fits the bill.
Blackberry winter is the term most Southerners know, mostly because of the abundance of blackberry bushes. Typically, this is the time when the berries start to ripen. And according to the Farmer’s Almanac, a cold snap can actually spark blackberry cane growth, giving more credence to the term.

That every one posting in the SSA paperwork thread has lost his/her mind. That is the most jinx worthy activity ever. I refuse to post in it and am concerned about even acknowledging it.

Would it be just as jinxing if someone, let's call him gary, copied the post of someone else, let's call him bayou, in a post in the paperwork thread?

Guilty as charged. Speaking of superstitions... If you’re any kind of baseball fan, you know about the superstitions that have been around forever: 1. Pitchers usually don’t shave on game day. 2. Players won’t step on foul lines when taking or coming off the field. 3. If a player has a great day at the plate, he’ll keep using that bat until he cools off. 4. No one talks to the pitcher once he gets close to a no-hitter. 5. Joe DiMaggio (and there are plenty of others) always stepped on second base on his way in from centerfield.

I started the thread, so I'll take the heat!! LOL!!! Rumors are swirling of a fast turnaround between NORs and the cert being pulled. That's the only reason I posted the info before NORs come out!

Gary, I see you got sucked into Foghorn's thread creep. Actually, it was worse than thread creep; it was a 90 degree turn.
If a question doesn't fit into an existing thread, it is easy to start a new one.

Bayou, you are worrisome. Kenny G mostly plays the soprano and alto sax. This guy was playing a real saxophone, the tenor sax. Pixie All this discussion about the inner workings of music makes me realize I don't know sh#t form Shinola when it comes to music. A Shinola reference immediately identifies you as a Marine. Yes?

I suppose it's possible it cross-pollinated culturally to the civilian world. Probably b/c some former Leatherneck said it to his first civilian boss.

Did you know that there are current professions that are literally only 3 to 7 minutes away from extinction as we digress here?
Commercial airline pilots.
Pilots of Boeing 777's spend less than 7 minutes on average actually piloting the jets; Airbus pilots spend less than 3 minutes on average actually piloting the jets. There is currently no physical reason for the presence of multiple pilots (a/k/a "SPO" single pilot operations theory) on such jets save for faux-mental safety appearance reasons to traveling passengers.
