Not to change the subject, ok, to change the subject, Mr. and Ms. Shadow are going to Cleveland Saturday for a househunting trip, and don't know a thing about the place. Does anyone know any good restaurants/bars, etc. that we should know about? Of course, first stop will be the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but where do we go from there?

If you are in the mood for pirogies, I recommend any of the small family restaurants in Maple Heights. There should be several in the vicinity of Southgate. I am not from Cleveland; however, my most recent ex-wife was from there. Parma is also a good place to flind Slovak, Polish, or Italian food.

I don't know about restaurants and bars, but you can check out the official "A Christmas Story" house. There is a museum across the street from the house. Go to www.achristmasstoryhouse.com for more information and location. Who needs the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame when you can probably get your own leg lamp or Red Rider BB gun.

slyman's is very good - was showcased on the food network. also, if you want to eat and walk around, westside market is excellent.

Shaker Heights is very nice - both sides of the Cleveland line - old money but not stodgy or unaffordable. Lots of potential in the less grand neighborhoods, but still close in and its pretty hip for the 'burbs.

Mama Santas Pizza in the Little Italy section of Cleveland, near University Hospitals and CWRU had good pizza as I recall. It is on what becomes Mayfield Road. Many of the Little Italy restaurants are good.
