Did any of you who accepted offers with SSA know, either because you were told or due to the timing of your offer, that you were a second choice?
In my office, we had two slots that were advertised. One judge is coming. Considering that six names should have been forwarded for interviews, if the other selectee turned down the opportunity to come to our office, why would they not offer the job to one of the other four interviewees? I saw on another site that nine slots went unfilled. I just don't see how that can be.
I knew some of the people who interviewed for my office and they are competent people who clean up well. It does not make sense the slot was not filled. I wondered if due to time constraints whether they just made one offer per slot.
Just curious.

I am told (insider info) that the slots remaining due to declinations will be put on the new cert coming out in a couple of weeks.

JH's information tracks what I was told. Expect the new cert in the next couple weeks.
