Next Saturday, 5/17/08, my eldest daughter will graduate from law school #1 in her class. She was editor of the law review this past year. She has accepted a job working for a DEA ALJ in Crystal City or Pentagon City.
In five years I may be working for her (if she needs a night janitor).

I am very proud of her. Of course, I would like to claim all the credit; however, her mother (the first ex-Mrs. Morgullord) is also an attorney and much of the credit likely belongs to her rather than me. Still, one may be permitted to bask...

Morg:
Congrats! I'm just trying to get my daughter graduated--from college. She keeps wanting to smell all the roses along the way (and stay on the payroll)....

Congratulations Morgullord - and congrats to Princess Morgullord and ex-Lady Morgullord, too. 1st in her class and a job - what more could one want. Like Jerseymom, I'm having a hard time contemplating college since we're still working on graduating from kindergarten in my house. Who are you calling a geezerparent?

Jerseymom Hey Jerseymom, Lurker, and Morgullord, Like you, I am just happy to get my nine-year old through her multiplication tables and division before the 3rd grade standards testing is through. No easy task. I seem to recall learning this stuff in 5th grade. I hear next year, the 4th graders are expected to make powerpoint presentations. I don't even know how to make powerpoint presentations. And this is public school! Congratulations to all those proud parents of law school graduates! Calalj

My congrats as well Morg! I'm sure you had something to do with it as well (not just your ex). I don't think I'll have the pleasure of either one of my kids graduating from law school because they have observed me work such long hours in private practice. They forget the fact that I work such long hours so they can have the good life.

You should hear my daughters dissing government service. My nine-year-old thinks that my 10x10 suite at work is "nothing but a closet".

Don't knock your 10 x 10 suite Morg--at least it doesn't come with a price tag. I have to crunch a number every month to make the overhead. And then I have all that administrative work in addition to billing time. Oh, and I have to think about marketing my business to bring in new clients etc. etc.
