āIrony:ā what is done to complete oneās laundry. Only if you're 100 years old and living in the past.Ā Wash and wear is the current and future trend, my friend!Ā I may own an iron (it's probably in a box somewhere), but I don't think the ironing board survived my last house move.Ā I don't miss it, except to make college-style grilled cheese sandwiches.Ā Ā Well, not quite a hundred, but a lot closer to it than you.

greendog What ever happened to Mello Yellow? It's called MY now-at least that is what appears on the packaging. I see it in the stores but I never cared for it. It's available in the southeast but not sure everywhere else. It's like what happened to Mr. Pibb. It's gone. It's now called Pibb xtra.

Does anyone know the current status of Senator Warren's proposed amendment to the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act that is designed to block the implementation of the ALJ EO?
Here is the link to the press release issued by the Senator's office: Warren Amendment Press Release. The link to the text of the proposed Amendment is at the top of the press release.
My apologies if this is being discussed somewhere on the Board ... I could not find any comments about it.

I know where my iron and ironing board are: on a hook in the linen closet where I put them when I moved in 29 years ago. They came down maybe 10 times and none at all in the past 20 years. They aren't causing any trouble and I figure if I need cash in my little old lady-dom, I can sell as antiques. Not sure I would fire that iron up and use it on anything I care about, though...

It is nice to get back to the substantive consequences of EO 13843. Mermaid, here is a link to the Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, S. 3107. www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/3107 No action is reported on any amendments, though the website tends to run a couple of days behind.

I believe the correct bill is H.R. 6147. The Senate passed it last week, although as per usual after extensive amendment in the Senate there are significant differences from the House version; those will be the subject of a conference committee (if I remember my Schoolhouse Rock correctly).
The original Aug. 1 posting of this Fedweek story stated that the Senate version included the Warren amendment re: ALJs, but it has since been amended to state only that the amendment was under consideration.
Just did a quick search of the text of H.R. 6147 as passed by the Senate and it does not appear to have anything resembling the Warren language. And the House version did not have any such language, a similar amendment having been voted down.

I'm sure my question has been addressed, but forgive me as there is a ton of information on here to sift through following the EO. My question is this: Will those of us who just tested from March - June, 2018 (2017 applicant group) even receive an NOR?

I guess no news is hopeful news?...that they may still use those on the register and possibly those who tested high Enough recently as potential candidates for hiring/selection? Or is that unicorn level optimism?!
