Jeeez-Louse! I feel really bad for the people who just spent money testing.
Any WAG's on when SSA and OMHA will transition?
Any thoughts on whether there will be any more certs under the current OPM-based method of hiring before the transition?

Are we getting trolled??? Also what is the EO #?
After my quick glance, current ALJs are safe and protected from removal by current procedures. New ALJs will be expected service and can be terminated like other excepted service employees.
On the one hand, as an insider it seems like it made it a whole lot easier for me to become an ALJ. On the other, the job isn’t the really the same anymore. Interesting that we now have a two tier ALJ system - ALJs prior to this EO, and those after.

Do they not have to comply with notice and comment requirements prior to changing the CFR?

Where did you get this information? I can't find it on the internet.

There is a rumored draft of a proposed EO being floated around out there. My guess is that this is it, but that's only a guess.

it appears you may have been temporarily trolled. However, there are entities that would love to do the above so you may have seen some legitimate draft of something in the works. if so, this explains OHO dragging its feet on hiring ALJs.

Who on earth would create a fake EO with this level of detail to just troll mere ALJs?

could you see a friend doing this as a horrible prank on a recent and skiddish testtaker? i could see someone doing this. and trolling is definitely the better alternative. but that's another topic.

This proposed EO would appear to be in blatant contradiction to the APA

Do they not have to comply with notice and comment requirements prior to changing the CFR? That's a great question. Almost certainly.

I’m not sure this changes anything for the existing ALJs, but its not good news for new or old timers. I suspect this will be challenged and be struck down.

Probably no one. I'm hearing that it's a proposed EO and part of the civil service reform plan from the administration.

I am pretty sure this is just a proposal since it can't be located on the official website. I also agree with roggenbier that it will be challenged and possibly struck down if it's actually signed by the President.
