So it appears Leonard Bernstein is from Lawrence mass or has ties to Lawrence According to What I Know Is Pedia, he was born in Lawrence.
It's the best of all possible worlds . . . .

I actually prefer Sir Neville Marriner during his time with The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. I believe Sir Neville left us in 2016. He was one of the founding members back in the late 1950s, I think it was.

Not only was Sir Neville the founder of The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, he was also Music Director of the Minnesota Orchestra in the 1980's. His Academy recordings were a staple of Morning Pro Musica on WGBH in Boston. In my humble opinion, WGBH represented everything great about public radio in the late 1970's to the late 1980's -- classics in the morning (Robert J. Lurtsema on from 0700 till 1200, 7 days a week), Music America (The Great American Songbook) at mid-day weekdays (Ron DellaChiesa, there every day except Patriots Day, when he ran the Marathon), jazz with Eric [Jackson] in the Evening. Friday and Saturday nights had a great blues program (Mai Cramer), and the folk offerings on Saturday (Celtic Sojourn, Thistle and Shamrock, Folkways) were peerless.
Respectfully, Tom B

Randy Newman wrote this about the river catching on fire. Sure looks like the city has embraced the song and this video shows how far it has come. "Mistake on the Lake"? Hardly. It's the city of light and city of magic. Not a perfect paradise, of course. They still have to deal with the Browns...

A song from a LA band that’s talking about an Arizona town not too far from Phoenix and Tucson and which mentions Tucson😍. Dare I say a triple play GAL?

For the folks hoping to land in St Louis.
RIP to Mark Lanegan, a founding father of grunge but a bluesman at heart.

Los Lobos recently did an entire album of "LA" band songs (where they are from). This is a cover of a Midniters tune, probably from the mid-60's.
