...may I recommend an inspiring trip to You Tube?
Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened -- as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding -- she studied and remembered every moment. This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.
(BTW - it takes about 20 minutes, but it is well worth the time spent.)

'Hagg'", I saw this circulating a few weeks ago. It is truly a story of inspiration. I understand it took her close to 8 years to recover from the stroke. I loved her description of the right hemisphere of her brain, once she was free from the influence of the dominant left hemisphere. Thanks for sharing this.

Along the same inspirational vein, here is another link worth watching:
Arthur is a 14-year Army veteran who was discharged after a botched surgery left him disabled and only able to walk with the help of leg braces and canes. Over the next 15 years he gained a considerable amount of weight and became despondent. Eventually he began looking for an exercise program in hopes of relieving his constant pain....what he found transformed his life – and in less than a year...yoga works! This was filmed and edited by his 19year old son as a labor of love.
It is 4 minutes, 15 seconds- the last 25 seconds of the film are worth waiting for!

Ah, its June 2nd. It makes you wonder how "early June" will be defined! Will it be this week or the next? Only the Shadow knows...
