Hi all. I was just curious if any federal agency ALJs were holding in-person hearings yet? Are most doing telephonic like SSA or are there some that are using video?

Can't speak as to any in person federal hearings, but I know that some states have resumed jury trials. It's a logistical nightmare.

In our state, ALJs are expecting to work remotely via phone through the end of July.

Hi all. I was just curious if any federal agency ALJs were holding in-person hearings yet? Are most doing telephonic like SSA or are there some that are using video? The COVID status information is available online for most federal agencies. Well, take that info with a grain of salt. Agencies will publicly say what they want you to believe, but what is actually going on may be two different things. I have no knowledge of ALJ activity in other agencies besides SSA, but I do know federal workers in other agencies who have Secretaries beholden to the White House who have been told to report to work unless they meet the extraordinary criteria to continue telework. No, they are not union, and yes, they are not happy about it.
