I think the expanded cert folks were told to expect to hear something in early July. We are inching into mid July with an August 4 report date. Of course, if they want to give me 24 hours' notice I will make due, as I am sure many on this board would also.

Just remember - we were previously told that we would be informed in "early" June and that did not hold true; hence, I would not waste too much time rechecking several times a day when it could be late July. Neither the classes nor the report-in date are etched in stone, to the best of my knowledge.

Anyone receiving an offer from the June cert will be in the class that starts on August 4th, so they will have to be notified in time to make travel arrangements with SATO. They were already told that they would not report to their duty station before going to Baltimore. It really gives the agency through July 18th to get offers out without causing travel problems for the agency. It may end up being very inconvenient for the people receiving the last minute offers to rush off for a month with less than 2 weeks notice.
I advise everyone to check once per day and then don't worry about it. If someone is already a government employee, check your official email address even if it was not the one provided during the application process. I got my offer via govt. email when everything else had come to my home account.

I have a co-worker who was picked up in the last cert and was notified last week. She starts her ALJ "in office" orientation on June 21 and will be in the August class. Through the grapevine, I have heard of another 20 or so agency selectees, so unless Pixie or someone says that offers are still pending, I would gather they are out.

Re: Barkley - Your co-worker was picked up last week and starts her orientation on '6/21? "With all due respect," I can't figure out how that makes sense. I think it is fairly clear that there will be another, albeit small, group selected shortly re: the expanded cert. There are too many cities with more than one slot which have yet to be heard from, let alone others in addition to the last rush of notifiations, not to conclude that the small number of expanded cities have yet to be awarded. I think your "grapevine" alludes to the last group selected three weeks ago -- it is entirely unlikely that none of the second batch from this group would have submitted any comment to date for it to be otherwise.

I concur because the expanded list from June specifically said that those people selected would not report to their new hearing offices before going to Baltimore for school.

I don't suppose anyone wants to call and ask if all the offers have gone out?

I don't mind calling. If they want me, they will hire me. I don't think calling and asking will make any difference. I tried both Susan Martinelli and Pat Rocheford. I keep getting their voice mail. If I get to talk to them, I will let you know. I didn't leave a voice mail.

I was at the ALJ conference in Savannah this week. Apparently Lisa Desoto made some comments about the number of ALJ's to still be hired for this round. I was there to conduct a training session, so I did not hear the comments. If any ALJ's heard Desoto's comments about further ALJ hires for this cert, please post them here. I'm certain many on this board will be thankful for the info. Yes please! I'd like to know if my chances are small because there are so few more hires out of so many remaining applicants, or if my chances are small (but slightly less so) because there are lots of new potential ALJs added to the remaining pool from April for the several more appointments.
