Will have access to a car. For a Saturday trip in town, is it better to drive car or use metro from N. Bethesda area?

Will have access to a car. For a Saturday trip in town, is it better to drive car or use metro from N. Bethesda area? I haven’t been to DC in two years but my experience is that the Metro is a little slower than driving, but it gets you anywhere you need to go, and is cheaper than parking everywhere. Plus, riding the subway is one of the best ways to “experience” a city IMHO. EDIT: but I would probably drive because of COVID. You can usually find cheaper parking on Spothero.

The Metro is largely empty, and would be the better way if you are going to a location near another Metro station.

you ought to rent the biggest SUV you can and drive it right downtown and park in two spaces. Then after making sure someone in authority is giving you the eye, jump out of the car real fast and just start running. I've never personally done this, but highly recommend it from what i've heard.

Have you had the trip? Now I would definitely avoid any crowds, even outdoors!

As a DC Metro "victim," steer clear of the Red Line, which goes through Bethesda. Especially on the weekend.
