Wow is right. Drain the swap, drain the swamp! Another campaign promise kept and no doubt many IJs support this. AALJ will be up eventually in the next four years.

While I think the final result of this election is something of a foregone conclusion at this point, I'm not convinced this is going to be reversed by a Biden administration. I'm not even exactly clear how it can be reversed at this point.

But hey unlike the current POTUS I am not an expert on everything nor a stable genius. So who knows?

There will be many new beautiful executive orders like no one has ever seen, tremendous and strong executive orders!

One thing the past four years has shown is the wisdom of Joni Mitchell: "...you don't know what you've got 'till its gone." If there was one over-riding theme in this Board up until recently it was the vagaries of OPM and its selection process. I know I used to rail against them and their perceived indifference. Well, having seen them from the other side, I can tell you I encountered true professionals trying to do the best job they could. So, if OPM comes back, I say Welcome!

I say let the new administration fill hundreds of IJ slots! No more shyness about accepting that which Congress--even conservatives--wish to push Homeland Security's way. Cornyn talked 400 plus. I say that should have a bipartisan go for it approach, and an EOIR chief who knows how to say "why how gracious --and sagacious--of you Senators. Yes, we will gladly accept funding for 400 brand new IJ's, their staffs and courtrooms. Let IJ's flow like a mighty river, washing away the backlog caused by parsimonious staffing. Let IJ's ranked not in 2's & 3's, in 5's and 10's but in hosts, providing full due process yea even unto those with abandoned if not malignant hearts who conceived of the dashboard.
This too, shall come to pass, we pray.

The President-elect's old campaign page said he planned to "double the number of immigration judges." Time will tell, I guess.

This looks moot with a new POTUS and AG. However, I would like to give a shout out and props to our Union President and her officers for fighting like tigers for all of us and a presumptively effective strategy of running out the clock instead of subjecting us to a bad deal.
Well done ALJ Union!
