Really interested to see how this one goes. The plaintiff’s circumstances of being deprived of SSI benefits for relocating within the United States may get the Justices on a different path than a Puerto Rico resident being denied at the start.

Wow both surprising and disappointing! I remember early in my career trying to correct a state judge advising a client about the collateral consequences of deportation during a plea hearing despite my representation that my client was from PR. He was incredulous when I finally had to say that someone born in PR is an American citizen.
[Regardless, my prediction is plaintiff loses 6-3 at SCOTUS.

Wow well the way too many folks treat people from Puerto Rico I can believe this. U think it would have come up in his schooling though.

U think it would have come up in his schooling though. I am guessing that in pretty much every American's schooling they learned somewhere along the way that all states have two Senators, but my recollection is that only around half of Americans know this.
