So I've ruled out bothering to apply for an attorney advisor with the BVA in as a decision writer or appellate attorney, because from what I have read the BVA management have inflexible quotas and unrealistic demands. I found a thread on another board that makes BVA seem like a horrible job where they fire anyone for not meeting quota even after ten years of service (40 pages of complaints: www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/697143.page ). However, VA have other divisions and I have seen Atty Advisor jobs in the OIG division and sub-divisions of OIG VA, such as attorneys doing audits and reports, and investigative work with ethics, regulations, or FOIA stuff. So does anyone have any thoughts on working in an OIG division of VA, pros and cons? Can also PM your thoughts, thanks!

I wouldn’t know but would hazard to guess that a certain OIG would love to know the names behind these avatars.

For what it’s worth, my friend has this job and he absolutely loves it. He says he wants to do it for the rest of his career. After a year working in DC, he moved to Florida with his girlfriend because he is 100% remote, wakes up whenever he wants, gets through his work. He did say that there are some people who can’t keep up with the demands of the quota. But, maybe it’s still a great opportunity for the right person.

lunalovegood You have a nice avatar, but here is another you might consider if you get tired of the one you have now:
