Good news, but I'm not changing my handle.

Saw the email about an hour and a half ago, but strangely not seeing anything in news.
I guess it's a typical Friday afternoon news dump.

Apparently this is not in the news cycle yet, but President Biden has apparently replaced Andrew Saul as “acting” commissioner for SSA with Kilolo Kijakazi, who was serving as Biden’s Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Retirement and Disability Policy. Her email to employees thanks former commissioner Saul and Deputy Commissioner Black BOTH for their service.
My google news search didn’t turn anything up. With the unions preparing to enter into new contract negotiations, the new leadership could result in a very different outcome.

I really can't wait to see how this all shakes out. Saul/Black, Union/Agency negotiations to return to the office, followed by actually returning to the office, and, don't get me started talkin' about those in person hearings! Gonna be a hoot.

According to the Washington Post Black resigned but Saul refused to resign so Biden fired him. It also says Saul rejects Biden’s authority to fire him, so he plans to “keep working.”

Washington Post is only outlet so far. Friday afternoon WH action is usually to avoid media coverage. Anyway, I really don't care who runs SSA, but I am personally happy to hear that, for the second time, David Black was fired. Saul's emails since last Election Day looked like he was kowtowing to new administration.
Prediction: Not much changes.

Tell Mr. Saul and Mr. Black to read Collins v. Yellen. Only a 7-2 decision from two weeks ago.

Saul was not "acting." He and Black were confirmed in 2019. Now they're toast.

Lololololol Saul's gonna *remote* in Monday morning, what a loser. I can't stand losers, and he and his ilk lose *bigly*. I'll pour one out tonight to celebrate his termination.

I saw it in a yahoo page when i was reading emails and signed in here to see if there was any discussion. My nine months as a decision writer for SSA was certainly a strange experience. I find it funny that the head of an agency that that has such stringent rules refuses to obey the directive of the chief executive.

He's going to have to read the case on his personal computer as I imagine his SSA computer no longer has an access to anything. What work he might wish to do without access is a puzzle to me. Although I do believe his paycheck starting Monday will match those unfortunate SSA employees who were told their paychecks would be $0.00.

Need a reset at the top No idea if there's anyone else on the chopping block. I was pretty shocked to get an SSA email about it before it was in the news at all. Probably had to announce it a little earlier than intended, once Saul ran like a Bee Otch to any rag that would listen to him. I'm sure he'll make the rounds on Hannity and Tucker before long, whining about how he's a victim.

Okay, this is laughable:
“This was the first I or my deputy knew this was coming,” Saul said of the email he received from the White House Personnel Office Friday morning. “It was a bolt of lightning no one expected. And right now it’s left the agency in complete turmoil.”
Really? Geesh. No turmoil here, unless you consider drinking and dancing to be such.

So presumably on Monday Saul will “try” to log in but find his account is disabled. Will he then file a lawsuit to be reinstated? (Which, he will lose, based on recent Supreme Ct. decisions.) Or will he go enjoy his retirement with his piles of cash? I mean, I suppose filing a lawsuit takes minimum effort on his part, and he may do it just to be a thorn in Biden’s side. Interesting times! (Now how about lifting that hiring freeze?)
