Have you heard when this is to begin? NO! He hasn't as this is 100% pulled out of no where. This will never happen! We will return to the office for all hearings just as soon as the Union and TPTB agree and it will not involve some weird crap like ALJs releasing "in person" hearings on the day of one Judge being in the office! Agree with TigerLaw about releasing "in person" hearings. It doesn't make sense; all of us have plenty of cases where claimants/reps declined phone/video hearings so why not just schedule those if there is an in-person day?

The logistics of the repped claimants that opted out would be a problem- there is no way to just schedule them all for the same day since the reps will inevitably have conflicts.

Oh, it will be some weird sh$t. One judge, starting with HOCALJ, one day, 3 in person hearings, with cleaning in-between each hearing. A total cluster. Don't know nothing about releasing cases to the in-person judge, but the 'vision' (loosely applied here) is a different singular judge each day. Whoopee, we can get 15 in person hearings done in a week. Imagine the efficiency!
We got the Delta variant now, so who knows when/if this glorious idea will actually come to fruition.

I don’t see how the catch and release will work. So Judge A schedules one per hour and is the in person for Tuesday and gets one scheduled for 9 am one for 9:35, one for 10:20?
Hamster if Congress freaks out and passes M4A I can afford to retire otherwise got about a decade when I can get M4OP (Medicare for old people).

Just happened to glance through the email that went out today, reminding us that if we have any of several symptoms that we are not permitted to enter SSA facilities.
Among them are sore throat. I live in a house with an ancient heating system and have a sore throat from dawn until noon from October through April.
Also, muscle pain or body ache. Interestingly, another symptom is "new" loss of taste or smell- so, for loss of taste or smell it has to be "new", but not muscle pain or body ache? Cause then I'm never going back- I'm 100lbs overweight and spent the past 50 years treating my body like a bean bag, of course everything hurts.

Yeah migraine sufferer with neuropathy and seasonal asthma. Days w/o muscle aches aren’t common and shortness of breath and headache common.

No going back to the office for me! I retired today. 9+ years was just right.
I will continue to bloviate on the Board, though. Will be traveling for a couple of months, seeing my sons for the first time in a year, and hiking the Pacific Crest Trail next year. Mexico to Canada, ~ 2,700 miles. I’m going for Slowest Known Time.
I wish each of you success in your endeavors, and the proper use of punctuation marks. If you’re looking to be hired, I hope you will be—and soon.
Respectfully, Tony

Respectfully, Tony Hamster, it was just 5 days ago you said very, very, very soon! That was very soon! Congratulations, I could retire today too and every day since the end of January at 60, but too young and need too many boats, jet skis, lake houses, 5th wheelers, and spending money to do it at this time, but it will happen within the next 7 years. I hope you enjoy your retirement and the many adventures in the future! It will be 14 years for me in OHO Land (2028), but will feel like a 25-year sentence of hard time! At 67, and over 50 years of working since joining the Army on my 17th birthday, I will retire....that's sad in this country to work that LONG, but it is what it is, good luck!

Respectfully, Tony Rodent: you phrase that in the plural. Unfortunately, it has only been one item we have worked on—the lowly apostrophe. As we haven't mastered that, we haven't moved on in almost 7 years. Enjoy your retirement and don't forget us. I need help from those who have almost mastered the English language. Pixie

I selfishly hope to hear from you that the view from the other side of the retirement portal is all sunshine, rainbows and baskets of kittens. Godspeed.
