Were actual transfer offers extended (as opposed to inquires of interest)? Yes, some actual transfer offers were extended last week. That's what prompted my earlier post.

For those interested: on this transfer list its almost a clean 50/50 split of those locations that were listed on the 2019 canceled hiring inquiry, and not listed for the hiring inquiry.

Pixie, I, uh, hate to cavil, but I hope the use of “Uh, like,” supra, was a deliberate employment of superfluousness. Strunk and White would object strenuously as we know, but I applaud an occasional use of vernacular that consciously ignores their strict policies. Hope you’re doing well! I am traveling domestically and enjoying retired life. Happy Friday! Best, Tony Um, I'm like, that's the way I talk, so I write the same way. With the recent abuse of the apostrophe, and no one commenting, I thought I would write it that way and see if anyone even noticed. Thank goodness for small rodents. While paragraphs are a reader's best friend, forming plurals are important as well. In English, an apostrophe should almost never be used to form a plural, including with acronyms and decades. There are rare exceptions to this rule, but for our purposes, there are no exceptions. If we can go 6 months without an abuse of the lowly apostrophe, we can move on to something more complex. Perhaps the semicolon? It is the most under used of all the punctuation marks. I'm gonna start posting again just to ensure that we don't loose site [sic] of the purposes' of communication. I'm willing to die on the Oxford comma hill but otherwise; it is all superfluous.

Are you coming back as the original good Bayou, or the later bad Bayou?
Whichever, welcome back. Pixie

Hot off the press. OCALJ announced today calls will go out for ALJ transfers to a bunch of western cities in California and Nevada. Specifically, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, Phoenix North, Reno, Sacramento, San Jose. (I can't imagine why this info can't be disclosed, but if anyone can think of a reason please let me know and I will delete. Or, I suppose Pixie could delete it and hopefully let me off with a warning). A glance at the transfer list shows me all of those offices have at least one ALJ who relatively recently added their name to be transferred, including some as recently as last month.

If you are a union member you can see the list at aalj.orgI thought about putting my name in for an office in Nevada but the time for me to move is not right, even if they paid for the move, which they will not unless you are moving for a HOCALJ job. My current mortgage rate is 2.5% (no points from 2020). If I sell sure I will make a nice profit but then I have to buy a house (due to three dogs and two cats) and get a 7% mortgage. No thanks I will stay out. I am at the top of the pay scale and not in an undesirable location.

Does anyone know what's going on with the current transfer list? Just wondering when I should stop hoping I get an email offer.

Does anyone have any update on the transfers? I know that they sent out email offers. My understanding is that those transfers are at OPM now? Does anyone have any idea how long that part of the process takes? When will the transfers be effectuated? Again, asking for a friend 😁

Again, asking for a friend 😁 Once a judge accepts the offer of transfer, it is "usually" quicker than this time around. However, I imagine TPTB might have a few other things on their plate at this moment.
