Has anyone posted the list of reassignment offer cities yet? If not, I will do so tomorrow - if anyone who does not already have access to the list would find it helpful.

I know for a fact that there were two transfers to Las Vegas even though Las Vegas was not on the Acting Commissioner's first list or this new list. Is there a secret transfer list?

Also, if they’re having trouble filling those 30 offices, I wonder if offering relo benefits would facilitate moves. I remember in the long, long ago of 2015 there were about 10 cities they wanted transfers into and relo was originally offered (the whole thing ended up being canceled from what I recall). |

The fact they are really working the transfer list both for cities identified by OCALJ and others is the probably just the agency trying to get all it's pieces into position before it sees what a hire would need to look like. |

I should probably get myself back on the transfer list at some point. Not really looking to go anywhere at the moment with one more kid to get out the door still, but when I see Honolulu looking to hire I can't help but wonder...

There are multiple people in front of me on the city I want. That city is on the list and I got an inquiry yesterday.
Would it be bad form/inappropriate to reach out to the people in front of me to see if they're interested???

I can only speak for myself, (and there was only one other person ahead of me on the list), but I did reach out. Turns out that person was interested, so I knew not to get my hopes up. |

I absolutely reached out. Turned out one was not interested and one had long left the agency so I knew I was next up.
I don't see any harm in emailing the person- they will have gotten the same email inquiring that you got.
They are of course under no obligation to respond to you.

I also reached out way back when as did my classmates. The judges that I contacted were all very cordial about it. I mean, I’ll be a complete jerk if someone contacts me, but most others will be helpful.

I am aware of a recent transfer to a popular retirement destination where the transferring ALJ was more than 20 spots down on the list. So donut 🍩 give up hope. As others have said, it can’t hurt to ask. |

I was afraid to say anything when I got the inquiry to those higher than me on the list for that city hoping that they would miss the deadline to respond. That was dumb, but I got the transfer to a secret city. I found out that one of the people above me also got the nod to the same place. Mystery is afoot, and I am grateful.

I have two secret cities on my list. Sure enough I got a reassignment inquiry for one but I am number 16! I said yes!
